This is a very innovative Tarot, a deck that demands some degree of effort from readers. Each card relates to an entire fairy tale, keyed to the meanings of the Tarot. You will recognize many tales, like Three Little Pigs, Rapunzel, and Snow White. And you will learn new tales, drawn from Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and Native America.
Many of the Major Arcana are renamed in a fairy tale manner, such as Innocence for The Fool, The Fairy Godmother for The Empress, and Happily Ever After for The World. The elemental suits are artfully referenced in the Minor Arcana. The characters and plot of each fairy tale subtly convey the traditional meanings of the RWS cards.
This is a very deep and multi-layered Tarot. This deck encourages us to engage the world of fairy tales in a Jungian manner. Lisa Hunt’s art is so lovely that the wisdom and beauty of her writing is sometimes overlooked. Once Upon a Time, the book included in The Fairy Tale Tarot app, could easily stand alone as bedtime reading for children and adults. If only I knew about this deck when the physical deck was in print! Not only is each card illustrated with a fairy tale (and the fairy tales used are from many different cultures) but the book's description of the card consists mainly of the author's remove of that fairly tale. I wanted to order the physical deck - but sadly, it's out of print, and old copies are prohibitively expensive.

The tales, the art, the descriptions and suggested layers of meaning and consideration always help me think in a more focused - and productive - way. If you want a way to meditate, some help with positive and down to earth guidance, these wonderful cards will help every time. Thank you Lisa Hunt for making these available as an app as well. These fairy tales in this format are very very powerful. The tale and the tarot card meanings mesh well and are multilayered and multidimensional. This is my absolute favorite divination tool.

thisisa beautiful deck. only thing missing are no interpretation of reverse cards. i like how you can draw your own spreads. the included ebook seems like a nice addition, have not had a chance to read it yet.
