I am using fongo for 4 years now and finally convinced my wife's to port her number. From paying $180 per month to $37 taxes in per month is a lot of savings. No contract and we can really afford to buy new phones with the money we saves. If you guys are planning to use fongo, I suggest using an Iphone as they are more stable.

I love this app. I do have one issue though, I'm not able to choose a ringtone. I can for messages but not calls. It just fades to black. Not sure if this can be fixed or not. I tried the app on my tablet and it worked there

Great idea, very buggy app. Biggest annoyance right now is it randomly seems to not use Bluetooth and then I have to reboot the phone to get it to use it again

App has problems staying connected. Lots of echo. Constantly disconnected from calls. Obviously not going to pay for this quality of app performance. Although I'm not a fan of Skype, it is far superior to the performance of this appeal.

Love the additional FREE phone # I get with Fongo. I use the app on my Android phone and my iPad. It had a few issues in the past but now works flawlessly. Thank you Fongo.

The idea is great but 50% of the time it gives me a "Network Connection Missing" error. There is no sense in paying for a service I can't use

Aaarrgghh!! SO frustrating!! I have always had difficulty with getting the tool bar to show up when trying for example, to delete old messages on this app. Its so finicky as to how you tap the screen it seems? I am very frustrated right now just trying to get rid of old messages wrestling with an app that will NOT cooperate!

Incoming calls can't hear me but I hear them. Outgoing is fine both ways. Using latest version on Feb 26 2017

Never connects to wi-fi. Always has trouble. Only working on mobile data. UI is extremely old.

I have tried a few similar apps, and this one seems to be a little better than the rest. It's full of features and settings. The one thing it has that others don't is 9-1-1 service. I have not had much time with it, but if it continues to perform well I will bump the rating up to a 5. Android 5

Absolutely awesome very thankful for fongo and recently realized that opera VPN solved my issues with some public wifi A++++++++++++

Pretty good VoIP app. If texting can be free it will be 5*. Other competitors offer free texting.

Crystal clear calls. Easy to use.

Works as advertised.

Pretty decent app and serves my purpose well although occasionally the other party has an echo effect which must be some kind of data lag. I'm not sure where that occurs as far as Fongo or maybe somewhere else but that doesn't happen on Skype any more.

Works pretty good but has some issues. When I make a call it fails on the first attempt every time. Most annoying is that it randomly drops calls after a few minutes of talking. Varies between 1 and up to 9 minutes of talking before dropping the call on several different android phones.

Excellent call quality. I have made local and international calls with no problems . 3 years later , works even better. Family calls my cell phone, I return call with Fongo. 0$.... Can't be beat. I've used it on wifi and cellular data with excellent results.

Wow this app is great I bought a 15 dollar 3 gig data plan from fido installed the chip in my Samsung now thanks to fango I get perfect calls I can make 1000 calls for just half a gig so I still got 2.5 of data left. I get all the perks free voice mail I get texts messages for just a few dollars so now my $85.00 plus tax cell phone bill is just under $20. Incredible really I am now trying to convince my friends to cut thier contracts with the big phone companies and go with fongo.

It's ok. .the only problem I'm having is that I can't purchase the text add-on on my galaxy s6...I click the buy and it just takes me to a blank with the round thing going around non stop . Frustrating

Service is pretty good. Calls are still clear when driving at street speeds over LTE. Would really appreciate if the dialer could have added functionality such as predicting contact names with T9, having the option of texting, or having the option of saving to contacts. On other phone apps, the dialer is my starting point of who I want to text, search for contacts, or save contacts. It is my #2 priority after call quality.

Absolutely not free like the description says, no need to buy OR EARN additional minutes is a complete lie, remove ads $6.99, you can buy World calling credit for $5, $20, $50 or earn credit free by watching a video, you can buy unlimited Canada texting for 1 month $2.79, for 3 months $5.49, for 6 months $9.99 and for Canada and US. Texting for 1 month $3.99 for 3 months $8.49 and for 6 months $14.99 "HOW IS THAT FREE UNLIMITED?" It doesn't cover all of Canada and a lot of addresses in Canada can't be registered on your account it wouldn't even accept my email address I had to create a new one just so I can open the app. If that was smart they would copy and paste my review to their description because there's nothing worse for a consumer then being lied to the use a product

Call quality not good. Lots of dropout.

As long as I have a Wi-Fi connection, I can make calls to friends and family. How can I say no to that? (...can't reply to texts, though...)

UNLIMITED - No need to buy or "earn" additional minutes and texts by watching videos, downloading other apps or filling out surveys Not true after installing the app and opening it, it says I have $0.03 world credits and have to EARN More by taking surveys or applying for stupid ads to ingest my INBOX(email)

Nice way to save minutes on your talktime if you are near Wi-Fi
