In this story a young man comes to Holmes for help, fearing that the unknown forces that have brought the deaths of his uncle and father will soon visit death upon himself as well.

There were 56 original stories written by Conan Doyle and published in The Strand magazine between 1891 and 1929. The stories are divided among five series. This is from the first series, “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes”.
