Adv. of the Retired Colourman

The Adventure of the Retired Colourman (by Arthur Conan Doyle) is presented by Folium Partners. There were 56 original stories written by Conan Doyle and published in The Strand magazine between 1891 and 1929. The stories are divided among five series. This is from the fifth and final series, “The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes”.

A woman and a man have mysteriously disappeared, and the woman’s husband calls Sherlock Holmes for help. Eventually the mystery is solved, and the swanky criminal who felt so sure of himself he not only consulted the police but even Sherlock Holmes, discovers that Sherlock Holmes and his friendly rival Mr. Barker are more than a match for his ingenuity.
