The Adventure of the Devil’s Foot (by Arthur Conan Doyle) is presented by Folium Partners. There were 56 original stories written by Conan Doyle and published in The Strand magazine between 1891 and 1929. The stories are divided among five series. This is from the fourth series, “Sherlock Holmes: His Last Bow”.

Insanity and hallucinations feature in this tale of the great detective travelling to Cornwall, England, where a young woman appears to have literally died of fright whilst the surviving members of her family have succumbed to a madness.
