There were 56 original stories written by Conan Doyle and published in The Strand magazine between 1891 and 1929. The stories are divided among five series. This is from the fifth and final series, “The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes”.
Sir Robert Norberton has apparently gone mad, and his sister, Lady Beatrice Falder has been behaving a bit queerly too. But when Holmes gets on the scene, he soon discovers that Lady Beatrice is not at home and that someone else is going around disguised as her. Why has Sir Robert been going to the church crypt? Why were human bones found? Where is Lady Beatrice and what has happened to her? Sherlock Holmes discovers the answer in the surprising conclusion.
