Find Me Gluten Free for Android
No matter where we are, we can find something other than just chain restaurants to get some good gluten-free chow. Sometimes the app doesn't have all of the real world updates, but sometimes small shops close and no one makes a notice. Quite accurate though. We are very grateful to have this app.
I adore this app because of the reviews and variety of places they show! Not just restaurants but even (at least for Seattle) food trucks and food peddlers that offer gluten free. I couldn't survive without this app, it makes eating out with friends a breeze and introduces you to soo many places you wouldn't even know existed.
This app takes all of the guess work and fear out of the "dining out experience". My husband is celiac and our Son is gluten sensitive. It's so nice to have options when we are traveling. We've relied on this app in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, California, New York And even overseas in Scottland! The more we can get the word out on this amazing app, the better it becomes by all of Us users. This is my favorite app above ALL!
In most areas, this app only gets better when people leave reviews for places to eat! Used to love this app, so much that I depend on it. Then I got the Android update to 7.0 (N) and now the application doesn't work. Huge disappointment!
Basic AF. Can't switch from map to list view, makes it REAL hard to actually find out what's near you as you travel. Would be great if it integrated with Google Maps so you had more accurate info on times open, etc. Crashes often or takes me back to the home screen when all I'm trying to do is get away from the sidebar and view the map again. Overall just needs a lot of debugging and streamlining, plus needs better filters. E.g. a filter for dedicated GF businesses is NECESSARY for people who actually have celiac disease. Listing restaurants with GF menus is only helpful to fadists and people avoiding gluten for minor issues. Those of us with celiac disease can't dine at those places yet can't filter them out, either.
ETA: love the app still, however, with more use we are finding places that are closed or out of business, but still in the app. Would be nice if it were updated. It's frustrating to drive to a restaurant in the app and find it's no longer in business. I recommend calling before going anywhere. And I still love reading everyone's reviews. Helps me to know if the restaurant is really good.
Sincerely, traveling and finding places I could eat was a headache that involved at least half an hour of searching around on the internet to find a restaurant. The filtration options and easy interface of this app makes everything much easier now.
I was diagnosed just 3 months ago with Celiac disease and IBS. So I'm cutting gluten and lactose out of my diet. The hardest part is traveling and finding menus that acomidate my restrictions. This app has been a tremendous help.
Good info & nice to be able to search just for places with GF menu. 2 problems: 1) search "near me" is nice but when on the road I often want to search in a specific town I'll be in 4 hrs fron now. Can't do that. :/ 2) not happy about having to create an account to get to more than just cursory info.
As someone new to GF, this has been a life saver. I don't know how I would find places to go out without it- especially when dining with friends who also have food allergies or aversions!
My husband and I use this app whenever we travel and always find fun places. Restaurant hours have been inaccurate at times so we now always call to check on that.
The only issue....it's a big one...the list of GF places shows distance, but not if it is in opposite of where you're driving. It is frustrating. I will see one close to me, hit the direction and it is behind me or east or west...not on my route!
The lists are helpful. Cross- contamination is seriously an issue. There were places I would never eat at that are listed here. With or without GPS puts the major chains without even selecting it. Just because salad or fries are on the menu doesn't make this a gluten free place. Needs some work.
This app has caused me to drive to several restaurants who have no clue about gluten-free or celiac. Stop putting restaurants on here without contacting the restaurant!
The site is a lifesaver. The app doesn't do GPS well. And I think there should be a way to dispute or pull down non-gf restaurants.
This app is extremely helpful. We are wheat intolerant (not the same as gluten) and I'm lactose intolerant and we are all fructose intolerant (can only digest very small amounts). This app helped us find gf food in Paris and Vienna (we are from the UK). Restaurants that have a gf menu also usually can cope with other intolerance as well. We have had a much better travelling experience since getting this app. A very big thank-you! E
Wish they had a way to lump together general GF info like "designated fryolators" or "GF buns". But the celiac friendly label is really handy.
Used to be accurate, but has grown too big to be reliable. Jusy drove 45 minutes to a place to get gluten free pizza in Elgin TX based on the reviews on this app, yet they take zero measures against cross contamination, none of the meat toppings are gluten free and the staff was clueless. This has been happening more and more often with this app, I am just about done.
We have been having a hard time finding wheat free or gluten free restaurants, we've ended up eating a lot of Mexican food because of the corn tortillas, I looked nearby and there's already 4-5 options I know he'll love that aren't Mexican. Yay for variety! Thanks for making this app, he's going to be so happy knowing he can go to more places! I haven't even spent much time on this app and I know it's a game changer!
I have to eat gluten free and we travel a lot. This app is a lifesaver!!! We have discovered so many yummy restaurants that we would have never found otherwise. I'm so thankful for Findmeglutenfree! I don't know what I would do without it.
Very helpful app for those who cant eat gluten. The review system allows personal feed back and lets me know to either avoid or run to a place
I have multiple food allergies, wheat being one of them. This has been a life saver.
This app has been highly reliable in finding quite a number of Gluten free (gf) resteraunts or venues that offer Gf choices in our area. The ratings are mostly on track as well. As someone with a very nasty case of celiacs, I very much appreciate the safe choices I can have.
My best friend has Celiac's Disease and I'm so grateful for this app! Whenever we're able to hang out we both use this app and it's super helpful :)
It's taken a lot of guesswork and disappointment out of finding food when I'm out and about. It gets frequent use.
Was travelling around backcountry USA almost crying at every meal because it was so hard to find gluten free, and this app saved me. The more people that use it and review, the better it will become, so get on it@
If you are celiac or gluten intolerant, this is the best app! It locates safe restaurants to eat by just entering the city or zip code. Great for travel.
This app has been a great help while navigating as a celiac. I wish that there were more mom and pop type restaurants, but it's made my life much easier and helped me discover new places I had no idea were available to me.
A truly great app. Immensely helpful where ever I am. I have Celiac Disease and I'd be lost without your app. Love reading comments which help me narrow down my choice...
Always helpful in a pinch- this app has saved me several times! I like how they specify what exactly gf options are available for each place & then allow comments from previous visitors so you know how safe it really is to go there. Great for traveling, or just wanting to try something new. Thanks!
As a celiac, this app has been a life saver. Can't imagine having a social life without it.
Baked goods especially almond cakes are delish. This app helps me find somewhere to eat wherever I'm at. Was lost and hungry without it. Thanks!!!
Fairly accurate (sometimes the places don't have Gulten free items or stopped selling them). Some of the best food I have ever eaten I found with this app. Great while traveling when the area is completely unknown. Makes gluten free life A LOT easier!
This app has been a lifesaver for me so many times. Especially useful while traveling!
I really love this app. Nice to be able to see what others find that's either good or bad. Saves a lot of time & trouble.
This app works out well when I am travelling in a new area. It will be even better when more small town and local places are reviewed.
-Useful in a pinch when you're in unfamiliar surroundings! -Once in a while a place will have closed but is still listed so it helps to also Google the place. -I just wish you could filter by hours or days open
This would be a great app if it would let us look for restaurants in areas other than where we live. Fix that and it's a 5 star app!
Great little app. Can sort by excluding chains. Customer input so there are some biases but a great locator of cool little places I might not have otherwise found!

I have used this app for maybe a year. The information is good, and it's nice to participate in adding to the database of eating locations and reviews. It would be great if there was a simple guide of questions to ask a new establishment, so that one can evaluate its gluten-freedom. Finding GF food has many pitfalls and it helps to learn how kitchens operate in order to ask the right questions.
