This app can help you make decisions when you have to choose / select something from several available variants / options.

What you can choose / select? Almost ANYTHING!

Here is a list of just some situations where you have to make decisions:
– when buying PRODUCTS: phones, computers, TVs, cars, houses, land, clothes, shoes, etc.;
– when buying SERVICES: home renovations, car or electronic device repairs, holidays in the country / abroad, bank loans, barbers / hairdressers, etc.;
– when choosing a high school, college or kindergarten for your kids;
– when choosing your profession, career or future job;
– if you are an entrepreneur or have a business – when buying machinery, equipment, goods, services; when choosing your employees, collaborators, suppliers, customers; when searching for a site for the store you want to open or the manufacturing hall you want to build, etc.

For example:
I want to buy a second-hand car and I have found 3 interesting offers: Ford, Opel and Volkswagen. I have chosen these offers based on 3 important criteria for me: price, manufacture year and mileage. The offers have the following features:
– Ford: price 8,300 Euros, year 2012, mileage 94,000km;
– Opel: price 6,500 Euros, year 2014, mileage 152,000km;
– Volkswagen: price 4,700 Euros, year 2010, mileage 205,000km.

What is the most advantageous offer overall? It is in my interest to make an efficient purchase – i.e. the car features to be more favourable to me and the Total Advantage to be as much as possible on my side.

I’d like to buy the Volkswagen because it has the lowest price (4,700 Euros), but I’m not satisfied with its age (year 2010) and mileage of 205,000km, which shows a bigger wear and tear than the other 2 offers (Ford and Opel).

If I buy the Ford I pay 77% more than for the Volkswagen, but I get a mileage which is only 54% lower! It would not be an intelligent investment.

In situations like this I find it hard to choose, I do not know which option is the most advantageous for me.

Another example:
I want to buy a house. The flats in a specific area or neighbourhood can have very different prices, floor spaces or facilities / upgrades. Having to choose between apartments located in different areas already makes deciding very difficult. It will be almost impossible to make a profitable decision if I add some preferences / personal needs, such as: the apartment to be within walking distance of work / school / nursery / market / shops / bank / post office / pharmacy / hospital OR one or more areas have sentimental value for me, etc.

The basic idea is that the human mind cannot compute accurately in complex situations. Even multinational companies, governments and other institutions turn to sophisticated and very expensive software for complex decision-making which includes many variations and criteria.
