FlyKly Smart Wheel app connects to FlyKly Smart Wheel via 2.3 bluetooth.
This application may require internet connectivity and subsequent data transfer charges may apply.
The wheel is great. The app is VERY buggy. I found some workarounds. 1) PIN stopped working - try using 0000. The app resets the pin to 0000 often. 2) Cant connect to the wheel - spin your wheel back and forth, then hold your phone very close to the wheel. Always connects this way for me. Hopefully this helps some people. But yea, fix your app!!
Like others have mentioned, it's very difficult to connect and stay connected via bluetooth. I feel pretty cheated because all the videos show the app working while mounted on the smartlight, which is impossible right now. To change speed you have to dismount, attempt to reconnect phone and change the speed and assist. Please fix, it would make riding so much more enjoyable!
I simply cannot connect. Or if I do. It stays connected for only a minute. App is terrible. Poor management of expectation. Please fix and send updates. :(
Same problems as other people. It wont stay connected, constantly crashes, and is pretty much an alpha alpha alpha release. You NEED to open up the sdk to others, not just highest level of Kickstarter backers. Get some help. Hire some extra devs. This app is pretty bad. The wheel is awesome and this app is holding it back severely.
Buggy, rarely connects, won't stay connected >1' away, typos, etc. Missing many features, like elapsed time, trip time, speed, distance, cadence, power draw, etc. Needs ability to change settings on the fly, disconnect while searching, etc. Please keep up the good work with a promising piece of technology! Get the SDK into the hands of some whiz kids!
Bluetooth connectivity is poor yes, you have to put the phone very close to the hub 10cm or less. The rest is OK implemented
Can't connect I have an android phone frustrated I finally gave up. Right now I'm charging the wheel hopefully it will work without app. If not sending it back
I just use the app to change the settings and check the battery level. I did connect, but I had to have a high speed WiFi internet connection.
As soon as I click connect the app shutsdown saying unfortunately app has stopped working. I can't even check battery life or change the settings
Just like a lot of people say here, barely connects to the wheel, has problem detecting the wheel (but that might be bluetooth inside the wheel), you need to hold it very close to the wheel for a chance to connect, and sometimes it won't even connect that way, you will have to keep trying. You might also lose the connection unexpectedly while inside the application, while trying to update your settings. Needs a lot of improvement.
Very tricky to connect. Not locking as how can I be sure it will unlock. Can't trust the app.
Can't connect to the wheel. Followed all instructions. Very bad experience with the company in general.
Android app on Nexus 5 and Android 6.0.1 . dies not stay connected. it disconnects within a minute or so.
As others have said...not smart at all!
Truly horrible. The worst money I ever spent.
Same connection issue.
Same: can't connect to the wheel. It can do when it's a few inches away, but not while I'm riding.
Very Poor connection...
The app does not accept my PIN. Click forgot PIN. Get same PIN in email. Oh and the Sign In button is labeled SING In. Duh.
I did a factory reset, but it's still there & now I can't authenticate.
Wheel is great, app not so much. I can hardly connect to the wheel, only once in 20 attempts. Needs a fix quickly for wheel to be really useful.
How annoying that people leave negative reviews for an app they can't use...it's pretty clear that the guys at FlyKly are doing their best. Eagerly awaiting the moment I can connect this to my hub but until then, 5-stars for execution on having an android app the same time as an iOS app! Will update this review once I can actually use and test the app.
Wow we have the app.... Now just waiting on flykly wheel which is something like 6 months delayed.
Tried this app for android and iPhone and it doesn't connect to the wheel. Renders the wheel pointless. Very frustrating.
It hardly works

Like everyone else, I can't connect to the wheel. I even tried strapping the phone to the bike frame right next to the wheel (literally centimeters away) and still it couldn't connect while riding. I don't know what else to do. The only way to reliably connect the app to the wheel is when it is charging. I'd rather use cumbersome wires strapped to the bike than a wireless connection that doesn't work at all. FlyKly, at least introduce a mode to keep attempting to reconnect automatically, otherwise this is useless on the road.
