Marshmallow File Manager for Android
I am struggling to understand what this app offers. You can create shortcuts to app but you can do that anyway. Creating shortcuts to images could be useful but shortcuts to files and folders particularly network ones woild be really good but it cannot do that - so it's not really worth wasting your time installing it.
I haven't found any new functionality apart from assigning different logos to the shortcut that already exists. I already have an existing link to the default file manager called "My Files" with a file icon which suits it. No dramas with permissions, but it does ask to turn off overlays which is fine for some, but others such as myself use screen overlays and don't want to turn them off. Not knocking the Devs as I think this little app is useful for some.
Add SD Card shortcut.. I can access SD card from storage settings. Actually you could make an app with these shortcuts in it instead of giving shortcuts to homescreen.
Appreciate your good intentions, but in Android 7 it creates a shortcut to recent files and the hamburger drawer stays empty.
Loads up in Recents folder, and hamburger draws empty while being in the Documents folder as active directory.
The only thing missing is the shortcut for SD Card.
Weak app no user documentation for how to create icons. Don't understand what the "names line is for.
But i cant find micro sd card anywhere...
Awesome, but I'd like the option to just open the file manager right from the app drawer
Developers bhai log dhanyawad sabka
Can't find the App when it's installed
Superb work
Love it
Good
Does not work in N (only allows viewing recent files), which is a shame given N's much better builtin file manager. The app isn't necessary on N anymore though as the "Downloads" shortcut actually lets you browse anywhere using its sidebar anyway (and can finally rename/move files). Still, maybe the author can fix this app for N anyway - would still save one extra tap to go to /sdcard.
Version 6.0.1 September 16 patch. Keeps crashing on my device...
Don't time vest ,don't dawanlod this app
Does not recognize ad card
To people like me who using sd card as internal storage (offered feature from Android One's vanilla Android), you'll need to restart the device to make folders accesible to any apps.
Please add a shortcut to the downloads folder with its own icon. This would earn 5 stars. Also, you could add an in-app purchase for $1 donations. I'd like to support you, but not via PayPal.
Exactly what I needed, changing from an S4 mini to an android BlackBerry made me realise android now pushes Google apps on you to access photos, files, videos etc. Thanks Florean!
Unable to rename file nor moving and unable to create folder
Saw the built in file manager and said to myself it would be great if an app made a shortcut. Does exactly what it says with no nags.
The can't explore my Micro SD Card.
Does exactly what it says! Great app! Nice looking icon! To all the ones asking for SD card support, this app is only a shortcut to the built-in browser, ask Google for SD support not the developer of this app.
The included icons are beautiful too! Great job!
I'm using a non-stock launcher so it's useless.
But i cant find micro sd card anywhere...
Great way to access hidden built in features
I was looking for a file manager, but this does not seem to do much at all.
Does exactly what it says.
Nice idea, thanks for making this
Exactly what I needed. Works great!

Haha awsome
Wasn't very useful, seemed rather pointless & shall be uninstalled. Wish I could do the same with Marshmallow!
Uninstalled because it isn't any more convenient than Action Launcher's similar functionality and can't create shortcuts for the SD card. Good design in a needed area, though.
Once you format sdcard to store apps in marshmallow you can access it with this app

The app itself it useful. The idea of putting one of it's shortcuts in place of my current file manager on my dock makes me wish the stock file manager was capable of more. I'm glad to see Google has finally decided to add in a proper file manager instead of relegating users to the hardly functional Downloads app, I only wish however that it wasn't so bare bones. Sure, it can copy files to other directories (which is a good thing), and it can delete files and directories (which is also a good thing), but you can't create new files or choose to open them with a different program than the default, you can't manage permissions for files or create new directories. There isn't a context menu of any kind in it. However none of my complaints are the fault of the developer, but short comings of Goolge's file manager. The app itself is small, clean, doesn't require any unnecessary permissions (or any at all for that matter), and most important of all does exactly what the developer says it does, so it gets five stars.
