Floome measures the blood alcohol concentration ("BAC") providing you with an estimate directly on your smartphone. It connects via a standard audio jack, like normal headsets.
How does it work? Connect Floome to your smartphone, turn the mouthpiece towards you, and blow. Floome uses the same sensor used by most of law enforcement officers around the world.
If the app shows you a red screen after the test, your alcohol level is over the legal limit of the Country/State where you are while testing. Wait for the estimated recovery time suggested by the application, and then repeat the test. After selecting your weight, gender, height and age, the app will estimate how long it takes your body to dispose of the estimated BAC.
Floome offers several additional services, like: finding nearby taxis and restaurants, sharing test results with your contacts, and keeping track of the results by providing additional information such as the absorbed calories. * Smartphone not included

I read a few comments here. The most important thing is to do the test properly. TAKE IN MIND!!! YOU MUST WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES (20 regarding the Floome software) to do a test. Because the alcohol in your mouth, what is stack to your tongue, teeth, mouth will give you HUGE ERRORS. .. I test my level immediately after a sip of beer and after 1 minute and after 5 minutes. The results is self explaining... 2.42 gr/l... 1.13 gr/l and 0.37 gr/l alcohol level. So levels from jail to legal limit...And you must to learn to blow right. Not to strong, not to low with an equal level... If you do the test properly is quite good... Enjoy!

May be they have to change mecanism (even you breath strongly, it must work ! Like with police system). Impossible for now to check the measurement with a police measurement

Awesome APP! and great Device! I downloaded the app before receiving my Floome IT and i was surprised to see i could use it right away. Easy to use, full of great options and suggestions, such as recovery time and call a taxi (or a friend). The device is very small, light, it never needs to be recharged, and i can even fit it in a small purse. The results seem to be correct, sometimes i'd say even too conservative... but hey, better safe than sorry no? ps. The support team is also very responsive and nice... had few problems setting up my device and they helped me in no time! I truly suggest it... well done!
