FLIR FX for Android
It's bad enough there are no audible notifications on the app, but for the last month, there are no visible notifications either. This has made the cameras useless for security... Completely defeating my sizeable purchase of them! I'm very disappointed, because I like a lot of the features of the cameras and was amazed at the ease of setup. But as they are now - they're totally useless. Wasted money.
Use to work then one day it stopped sending notifications so I deleted it and then reinstalled and it's telling me know don't have an act so.i go to make a new one and it keeps telling me no Internet connection. 200.00 camera and yet you guys can't get the app to run smoothly, or at all?!?!?!? RETURN YOUR CAMERA FIND A DIFFERENT ONE!!!!!
So I had some issues I emailed customer care for. They replied 2 weeks later and didn't answer any of my basic questions. I would strongly recommend not using Lorex products because they won't let you configure your own things. You have to call and deal with the customer service.
Constantly crashes on my Nexus 9 when trying to add a new camera. Occasionally works correctly when trying to add a new camera on my Nexus 6 Phone. Had to use an old HTC One M7 to setup 2/3 of my cameras. It seems the app has issues working correctly on Android devices higher than 4.0
The camera is buggy like others have reported. I just been patiently waiting for and option to receive audible alert for motion alerts. all I git is a icon on the toolbar, lucky my pebble steel give me a vibrate or i would pretty much miss any of the motion triggers with defeats the purpose of this camera. I will he Holden on, but I have my eyes set on a camera made by Ubiquity, oh yea the camera runs blazing hot.
Hands down this app and camera have been great. Until I found out that you are limited on the amount of rapid recaps allowed. Didn't know this until after I passed the return date on the $200+ camera. Also, app doesn't function properly. I've changed the option to not get notifications and the dam thing is still send me notifications. You get two notifications per each time the camera's motion sensor decides to record. If I could do it again, I would not have bought this camera.
Horrible! NEVER works.. says I'm offline all the time. I'm always have to clear cache or data.. uninstall, reinstall. Just a joke and total waste of time.
Cannot setup up as a standalone device. Need to submit your WiFi password to Flir FX. Sorry, that is not going to happen.
I've been using two cameras for a year now. Its been a love hate relationship. Using and viewing on Phone app is good, downloading footage is very slow. Viewing on web was at times tricky but downloading footage was very very fast. You have just rebuilt the Web site it's bloody awful can't get it to do anything easily as before, downloading option on web is gone..... I use 4G and WiFi. Give me back easy fast web downloads and I'll love it again.
nothing but loud static when you view a cameras live feed impossible to hear talking. get disconnected and kicked out entirely too often. sometimes it won't even let me in at all just keeps saying failed to connect to camera. cameras are useless when you can't view them!
The notifications are terrible. One of the reasons I bought this is to use as a baby monitor but it will not work because the notification doesn't work. It doesn't vibrate or make any sounds. Is this something that can be changed? This is the only app I have that this happens...
I just purchased this unit from Costco and after spending over 3 hours trying to sync. with no success it will be going back tomorrow morning. real disappointment. Robert J. Fearon Montreal Quebec
wont let you log in, 'user does not exist' ok lets try and create a new account 'user already exists' ok lets try logging in again 'user does not exist' absolutely useless just like the software on the security system! tell me why did i pay £1000 for this system
Will not connect camera see why reviews hate camera . given to me to try. Tried several times. Glad I didn't waste money on it.
Terrible cannot connect to the camera, keeps saying check internet.
Live video lags by about 3 secs even when on local network.
Temp sensor not true if Cam is plugged in to mains all the time the device gets warm from charge and sensor reads device temp. App kept crashing in direct mode. Using it as a car dash cam was impressive very good product the night view is the best I've seen on any dash cam.
Always getting double notifications for motion activity alerts. Motion alerts are very sensitive, even at low setting. Need a way to reboot camera even it is offline, I had to climb a ladder and take the camera down out of the outside housing in order to reboot it cause it went offline for over 3 days. Has potential just not quite there yet.
Latest update had some minor issues with notifications. Contacted customer support and they walked me through rebooting/resetting the camera itself and everything began working correctly again. Their top notch, friendly, and educated support staff knew exactly what to do. If you have issues, contact support. The hold time is less than five minutes and you won't be disappointed.
So far have been having nothing by issues with the new release for my Flir FX camera. Won't stay connected using direct wifi connect. The new privacey setting isn't there where support said it is. Only cloud setting will show alerts and when you go to their website for recording reviews they aren't there. Installed the camera a few days ago after receiving it and everything worked fine. Updated it today with the new 2.0 release and its been nothing but problems. App is on an Andriod and website access is through Chrome running on Windows 10 OS. Ticket #1580400
I purchased the camera last month and have had nothing but issues ever since setting it up. The web player constantly crashes. Flir is aware of the issue but does nothing to fix it. Then in the flir app every week my camera goes offline. I can't go up my latter every week to reset the camera to reconnect. Its absurd. They claim they will do a firmware upgrade to reboot the camera even when offline but they haven't fixed it yet. There are far too many bugs. Horrible experience. They refuse to fix these bugs
The app now continues to notify of movement or audio even after you have switched to private mode or even manually shut down audio and motion detection in the app settings. Also this app should allow it to send a text message or email upon movement or audio for notification. There's NO audible notification that sounds off I had to install a 3rd party app to read off the notification.
Almost sudden can't view from Samsung Note4 app with 4G lte. Wifi is ok. Connected ipad mini with hot spot to ck data connection on phone and works. So Android App issue??
You will likely be disappointed in this camera and app. It is terrible as a security camera. The rapid recap function is cool at first, but you quickly realize it's nothing more than a gimmick and being able to scroll a timeline is so much more useful, like with Closeli. Once my year of cloud membership is over, off it goes to the salvation army... Flir doesn't seem to care or they would have fixed this long ago as I and many other people have been complaining for a long time.
The false positive / detection rate is too high even at the lowest sensitivity. Cannot manipulate the recorded videos with ease. The on-off switch (camera privacy mode) should be bigger, in order to be more accessible.
Seems to work on Wi-Fi connection but using cellular data application says cannot connect to camera. Events are recorded but no live video on Cellular Connection

Camera never syncs to phone so I can never see the live feed. Rapid recap will spool but it will say no objects found to display although there's plenty of recordings.
To keep it short, this cam cannot function as a baby/puppy/security camera. The motion activation is constant, even in a dark room in the middle of the night. Recording duration is preset at 1 minute, and it will make 100's of recordings with Noone home. To erase you have to manually chose each one up to 20 at a time...often getting an error that recordings could not be accessed. To view recordings online, the website is basic and it requires flash, which now-a-days requires a pc, not a mobile device.
Pros: Outside daytime view is very good; Panoramic view is good; not too hard to get it up and running; and customer service is good (sad, though, you'll be calling them weekly with problems); rapid recap is interesting (when you figure out how to get it to work). Cons: Almost useless at night (view looks like something from 1960-era technology); Every single day I get hundreds, yes I said hundreds, of false alerts due to: car lights; moths; bees; and rain drops so it's useless ("the boy who cried wolf"-syndrome). Bottomline: would I buy it again or recommend it to a friend? NO.
Since 3 days does not connect anymore to the cloud. In the tablet version it is impossible to disable notifications! !! The Camera hangs every few days and it has to be power cycled locally. That's unacceptable.
The notifications don't stack. I currently have contractors in my house and I'm using this to monitor them. So, with over thirty alerts in a day there completely fill up my push notification area and need to be dismissed individually. It's promising otherwise, but still far from complete.
I am having a lot of problems with this app. So far, it has been virtually ineffective. The app will take a long time to load, and generally, when it finally does, it will say the camera is not connected. I've went to direct WiFi with poor results and the cloud will just blink on and off until I carry the camera into the living where it stops blinking only to start once again sometime later. If this continues, I'll be returning the camera to the place I purchased it at.
Bought the camera as a security device but this app misses the mark with SILENT NOTIFICATIONS ONLY. No way to change this means it's useless as an active security device. Probably will need to look elsewhere now. Arlo? UPDATE 9/9/2016 Notifications are turned off and motion/audio sensitivity turned to the lowest setting but I'm still getting alerts every 2-3 minutes. Started to use Amcrest camera instead - not the best but they offer more flexibility. Just purchased 10 cameras and the price is almost half of the FlirFX.
Worst quality ever! The app didn't ask for a WiFi password and of course didn't connect. After the firmware upgrade on the second camera, the camera died and it's not coming back. A total rip off of a product.
Can view Auto recorded videos at all. I can do the live view but not Auto record. The said it was due to their servers being down but it's been 3 months this is ridiculous I spent 500 On 3 cameras and I can't use them!!!!
Just bought It 1 hour ago cannot connect to WiFi in direct mode. It will connect using cloud. I guess they are forcing me to purchase cloud. Late now. Night vision ? You mean this thing has night vision. Sure fooled me. Will get a refund in the morning.
Can't say it enough, the cloud and the system still need major improvements. Too unreliable.

This app hasn't been updated in almost 2 years and it had issues that need resolved. It is very disappointing to spend this kind of money on a product and not see active development to resolve some of the most glaring issues. I don't understand why a connected device like the FlirFX could not be constantly updated to make significant improvement. The very low rating of this app suggests that I'm not the only one who sees issues with the app and apparently Flir does not care to make attempts to resolve these issues.
