ASSCT 2016 for Android
The 38th Annual Conference of the Australian Society of Sugar Cane Technologists will be held in Mackay, from the 27th to 29th April 2016 at the Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre.
The Conference theme is “Emerging Technologies in a Global Industry”. The 140 year old sugar industry is striving to remain viable in a very competitive global sugar market, and as such, continually exploring diversification opportunities in the renewable energy (cogeneration and ethanol) and bio-products sectors. The Queensland State Government has recently expressed a desire to develop a state biofuels and bio-industry and this creates a path forward for those willing to explore the potential.
Our keynote speaker will be Pramod Chaudhari, Executive Chairman of Praj Industries Limited. Praj is most notably a supplier of ethanol technology and production plants, and has diversified into manufacturing other process and biochemical equipment, and waste water treatment plants.
The annual ASSCT conference is Australia’s premier sugar technology forum and great opportunity for sugar producers, farmers, millers and researchers to discover the latest developments and innovations in sugar technology. The primary objectives of the ASSCT have always been:
• to promote discussions of sugar cane and cane sugar technology of interest to the Australian Sugar Industry by means of annual conferences, and
• to promote the investigations of problems concerning the production of cane sugar.
