Antikythera Simulation for Android
This is based on the Antikythera Mechanism for those of you who don't know.
An absolutely brilliant app the mechanism looks like it was something out of the 20th century 19th at least, but as time goes on more is found out about it one of the hands actually institutes phases of the moon so it is a celestial timepiece of grand design. 5 stars for the mechanism and for the application so download it and check it out for yourself and tell me that it's not one of the most fascinating things you've seen the app itself is brilliantly executed.
Not the complete clock, but it seems it's being improved over time. Greek comments in the source code. Love everything about this project
Very interesting device
Special thanks for the source code. Now i have an interresting project to learn OpenGLES. Maybe i first try to add the gyro sensor. All the best, Henning
I've been doing study into the Mechanism for my own computer science research, and I found the AMRP's new 2012 model very appealing, with proposed planetary geartrains as well. I'd love if you did an update, but since it's open source, I might do it myself over the summer if you don't. Thanks for your work.
Indeed impressive! Thank you for making this!
Beautiful; thank you for doing this and making it open source.
And educational!
Πολύ καλό! Ευχαριστώ!
A great demonstration of how special this ancient mechanism is.
wow, nice app.
An utterly and absolutely stunning application. Iam really impressed of the quality of research and implementation. Bravo...
cool dude!!! Great graphics!!!
lovely
show the mecanical pov only
Well done
Functions as advertised, easy to configure, fun & fascinating history + science.
This apps is fascinating. viewing one of the oldest devices in the world with one of the newest is quite fun :D
Thanks for publishing it as Open Source, too :)
Thnx dude for such a wonderful app
Awesome sim!!! Kudos to you.
Real cool.
...for five minutes or so.
authentic tfta
Force close
Force closing
Gold star for this
I wish there was some explanation about the mechanism, but still... Good job, great graphics!!
An amazing contemplation, and an amazing execution. Would, of course, be better with shadows, but that might blow up my GPU.
Excellent demonstration
Thanks!
This mechanismid fascinating to watch
Very cool!
I've always been fascinated by the technological prowess of the ancient Greeks and definitely am glad that you've created this simulation.
This is pretty cool! Its a simple Swiss clock basically. But just the fact that you're looking into the working mechanisms of a watch is a great opportunitity. It is a perfect example of "Could this device be designed without a designer?" As in "How could the world be created without a Creator?" Seriously, the gears didn't just magically appear like that. They were designed by someone. Makes u think, doesn't it? HINT HINT atheistic peoplez HINT HINT!
Engrenagens coloridas rodando, é ver e deletar.
