It's motivation enough to watch how many points each workout will give you, then to try to top the points you earn each time you workout."

by Q####:

Okay but seems to be getting progressively buggier as Android updates. One issue that's driving me up the wall is basic logging functionality which should really be core to any fitness tracker. Adding new weights/reps? The app tries to keep the previous data and overwrites what you're entering despite the fact you're actively typing it Removing sets? It will overwrite the previous set with the data from the one you're removing Really needs some attention as looks like it hasn't had a release since 2015

Q70%
by Q####:

I'm a huge fan but it's a little disappointing that the last update was in 2015. Are you still planning to develop this app?

U70%
by U####:

My profile doesn't load--only shows a spinning circle, i can't view groups I've been added to or click on ppl who added me. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Glitchy when trying to figure out adding workouts as well.

by Q####:

No updates in over a year and the Android app is still broken: can't add advanced info to exercises like pull ups (crashes app). I'd be willing to pay a few bucks a month if it meant they kept the app working, since it's a decent little tracker when it works.

by Q####:

This app has been abandoned for way too long. It's too much money to be a member, even if they put it towards app and website development, which they obviously don't. I had such high hopes for Fitocracy, but I have been in denial for way too long. I wish I could have the money I paid for the only year subscription I have paid for back. What a waste. I feel sorry for the people that still pay. I was part of the community for a long time, no thanks to Fitocracy, for the interaction with like minded people. I can't do it anymore. Fitocracy is officially dead to me. I will gladly accept a refund on my year's subscription to Hero if there is one to be had. My money was paid under false pretenses.

it works ok but the ui is a little confusing and doesnt save when i make settings like name changes. could do with gifs or shorts videos of each exercise so you can learn how to do it instead of just pictures.

The add advanced option has been broken for 3 years. 3 YEARS. When trying to enter in the weight, the app crashes. This has been the case for me on 2 different phones and 3 iterations of Android OS. I have seen multiple people complain about this on the site, and it is ignored. I love Fitocracy, but this is ridiculous. Support your product's features or don't include them.

by S####:

This app has not been updated for a year and a half. The developers appear to have abandoned it. I was going to stump up for the upgraded version, as I use it to record my workouts, but ironically the section that would allow you to pay crashes out. Ah well. They obviously don't need the money.

The idea behind Fitocracy is great: use gamification to motivate you to workout. You can level up, do quests, and see how you compare to others. The selection of workouts are good and the point system gives you a good idea of how you're progressing. However, I have found the app buggy and slow. For example, I must restart the app almost everyday because the current date is incorrect. I will continue using this app because of its concept, but the Fitocracy website is much better than the app.

H70%
by H####:

The Facebook connection is for posting and logging in. Don't expect to see or compete with your Facebook friends in app (like you might in a bike app). It's also pretty bad at saving the name of any of my specific workouts. Other than that, quick, easy and effortless logging!

X70%
by X####:

It's cool having the social platform where people can ask questions and whatnot. But the exercise library could be expanded. Also they should change all of the exercises to have the option of adding weight to the activity. Crunches on a ball, can't add weight, dips can't add weight. Just make everything have that option.

U70%
by U####:

Its a great motivator in my opinion, simple to use BUT a large percentage of pictures of the workouts don't load when searching for exercises, and I've found that despite tracking a workout, some logs don't even get saved. I'll tack a workout and see all the points, but by the next day the entire workout is gone

E70%
by E####:

I'm convinced the author has abandoned this app. They only fix iPhone problems. This app still freezes when adding advanced.

U70%
by U####:

The Android app is apparently very neglected. 8 months since the last update? Clunky app UI, but it does track my workouts. I give it a 3 star because its functional, I'd make it a 5 star if they actually updated it.

I used to use this app religiously and loved the community and workout log. However, after using a few different apps, I've come back to it as I'm gearing back up in the gym. I've noticed a few things. 1- The available exercises, which were being added to before so I didn't complain, still aren't as extensive as other apps. 2- The community seems to have shrunk. The whole draw to it was getting props & having active groups to motivate each other. 3- It hasn't been updated on Android significantly.

U70%
by U####:

The website is fine for tracking activities. The Android application is very slow and the content caches do not update properly. Overall the experience is incredibly poor for an application with over 100k downloads. It's barely usable. I really wish this app was maintained.

The Android version of this app seriously lacks function and form. The news feeds are often hard to read and navigation is confusing. The community is strong and supportive and the exercise list is second to almost none. If only it were a better formed app. I hear the iOS version is significantly better.

U70%
by U####:

I've been using fitocracy for years. On the web app and on ios. They were really easy to use. The android version is just plain horrible. really unintuitive.

U70%
by U####:

Sets going crazy after ending workout, e.g. 1st set changing to 5th...also some layout problems. Please show some love to Android users as well <3

B70%

Love this app and have been using it since release, but lately it crashes every time I try to add weight to dips. Would be great if dev could iron out this bug. I'm using a ZTE Blade S6.

U70%
by U####:

Overall a great way to log your fitness training. The points give some extra fun motivation to log exercise. That said there are bugs, like how it instantly crashes whenever I try to add weight to my pull ups. Also some of the points seem off base. For instance today a single pull up got me 69.8 points, whereas if I do a sumo deadlift at 132kg, nearly double my bodyweight, I get 37.6. There is no way a single pull up is more difficult or has more training benefit. Such issues aside, I find it useful.

U70%
by U####:

It's a good weight room log but it lacks everything else. The website is much more feature rich than the app. It's difficult to find and interact with people you know.

X70%
by X####:

I was so excited to get my Xperia z5 the first app I downloaded was fitocracy but sadly it's not that good on Android. Can't give props (likes) it crashes it's not easy to post to groups and so on. I don't like apple but this app was better from the app store

Q70%
by Q####:

No ability to do weighted exercises (dips, pull-ups, etc.), as the system crashes every time on app. Works on internet but no one wants to have to use two methods to log one workout. UPDATE: 11/23/15 Above update has been accurate for over 1 year.

U70%
by U####:

Like everyone else's reviews. Website and idea is a classic, and great! Android app is just bad, no effort it seems went into this, or it's just a stand-in while they make a proper one

U70%
by U####:

I initially liked the app because of the promise of built in work out routines, and ability to customize workouts. But in reality I am constantly fighting with the app. It creates a daily workout so easily that I find myself constantly deleting an erroneously added workout. Also it doesn't appear to have the ability to delete or modify a routine once its saved, which is annoying. I'm definitely moving on to Fit Notes to find something that works better for me.

N70%
by N####:

Bugs have persisted for over a year with no fixes in sight. Use FitNotes instead for a fitness tracker that gets updated.

U70%
by U####:

Good premise, buggy execution. App has continued to crash when adding advanced modifiers to body weight exercises (e.g. weighted dips) over the last year, no development to fix.

U70%
by U####:

Love the idea and the website, but unfortunately the android app is very poor and hasn't been updated in over a year! Hope the devs come back to the app, becuase for now it is close to unusable for me.

U70%
by U####:

My friend, an iPhone user, turned me on to this app. Little did she know she had all that great functionality that made me want to download this in the first place. Android needs the updates too!

M70%
by M####:

It's difficult to navigate, impossible to find my friends who are ios users. Hope this gets better quick before I remove it.

V70%
by V####:

There's some workouts I know but can't find them in the app. I wish that every workout stored in the app were grouped together as in which muscle group they work out. It would make it waaaaaaaaay easier to put a workout together that way

F70%
by F####:

** Edit: I upgraded my phone and tried this again. It's still a very poor implementation; you're better off just using your mobile Web browser. Uninstalled. ** Hard to navigate, and misses a number of options from the website. Doesn't make much sense to enter the numbers with the app and then fix/adjust them when you get to a PC. Also, the Add Advanced options on the exercises (such as adding weights to pullups or dips) causes a shutdown.

C70%
by C####:

The website has way more functionality than the app. I do like that I can put together my daily workout, since I change up my routine frequently. I wish I could create my own moves, but it's not the worst. I also would like to be able to track my body stats.

M70%
by M####:

The Android app has a lot of bugs. The app crashes every time you try to add weight for exercises such as pull ups and chin ups. Also, if I tracked a workout yesterday and didn't close the app it won't let me track another workout today without closing the app.

M70%
by M####:

This app includes numerous bugs already mentioned. It also hangs indefinitely with a loading sign when I try to change the workout name.

M70%
by M####:

My progress bar is forever stuck on level 14 even though I'm now a level 16, no matter how many times I've updated it, it's stuck!

V70%
by V####:

It's a great app with an extensive library of exercises. However, there's no place to report bugs and there are quite a few, worst being the app ignoring decimals when creating a new workout from a copy. So 57.5 becomes 57, it's quite annoying.
