Runkeeper - GPS Track Run Walk for Android
This free app has all the functionality you need for a training companion and more. Accurate plotting and nice overviews. The only additional functionality I could think of is an integrated metronome just to give it a try but the cadence graph in the latest version is a good second! Would appreciate if that particular graph could be added to the web version as well. Unlike speed and elevation, I can see cadence in the app only.
Using Runkeeper, along with a Calorie counting app and my Wii Fit Plus game I have been motivated to lose weight and keep it off! The app is Excellent and being able to access everything online helps me to evaluate my current fitness. I like the new voices... made me smile on my run last night. There have been some good additions recently. Very happy
Please allow us to delete the training plans you've added in the 'One offs' section. They're useless to me. Has been full of glitches for the 4 years I've used it. No kilojoules after years of requests is poor. Amazed people pay for the premium version!
Easy to use, simple interface that doesn't feel clunky. Setting up interval training is easier than other apps I've tried
The app is generally well designed, but has several fairly major problems. The biggest current problem is the random lack of heart rate tracking on GPS activities. On multiple occasions, while taking my time to ensure my heart rate monitor is connected and appears to be functioning, the app will display my heart rate on screen but will not save it for review at the end of a hike or run. Along otherwise annoying bugs, it also has a tendency to lose activities if they aren't synced before an upgrade occurs. The mid-activity ads trying to sell me a lame fitness coach is unwelcome. Send feedbackback? Nope, no feedback button. Would be great if there weren't so many stupid design flaws.
This app is truly helping me. I just have not been able to sync it to my Higi account yet.
This app looked really cool until I got to the end of the walkthrough, it wanted me to pay money.
Nice app but voice options provided ...does nt apply right away
Great app.
I love it. It when it works for me!
Awesome free app to track run times
I love this app
This is very helpful for my fitness
Great tracker.
Great app
Love it...
In 3.0.1 the following change (bug) was noted: if you choose Countdown, the app freezes if you dark your screen before Countdown completes. The app runs fine but you cannot get past the countdown number to interact with the app. Noe: this bug was fixed in 2013. JB 1/4/14
Despite being outside the GPS won't work, maybe it's my phone but still, dissapointed..
Been using runkeeper on and off for a few years to track walks - always found it easy to use and very helpful. Latest version however seems to be a bit of a battery hog - according to battery settings runkeeper has kept the mobile radio active for 47 minutes since I unplugged my phone 3 hours ago - accounting for over 15% of total battery usage in that time. I haven't even opened the app in the last few days so it's data usage should be virtually non existent. Please fix this or I'll have to keep background data disabled for this app.
this app is awesome. i suggest everyone to use it for fitness. From last update, my experience suffered of a bad GPS reception , something strange bc google Map work perfectly and run keeper juste never sync with gps... is there a problem? i have never seen these problems before and it happened 3 day in a row
Is there a way to import data from Runkeeper to another fitness app? I'm uninstalling this as it won't record manual activities anymore. I have to screenshot it for a record of my training. I try to resend it many times on wifi and 4g, have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, plus tried it on different devices. No luck. Bit annoying to say the least, especially when you're constantly trying to sell me an upgrade or Runkeeper merchandise and you can't even get the basic features to work.
Love this app! Even if I forget to turn it on, once I start exercising it will record my activity automatically. Pauses automatically too which helps when I am tracking my time. Great challenges and offers when you complete work outs!
Latest update means that app doesn't look for location until after you hit Go running. It then tells you it has no location and finally starts looking for it. Used to find location as soon as start hit.
This app is lovely, and I enjoy using it just to keep track of my fitness (even if I don't bring my phone with me when I run). With that said, I do wish it was a bit quicker to get to past activities (and update them), and its widget leaves a lot to be desired. I think a simple "distance in the last 7 days" widget would work wonders :)
I can't train at the moment due to recovering from surgery. But the app still gives reminders even though I made a point of turning these off. Nothing shuts this app up. It has no concern for your privacy and ignores the settings you choose. I've had to log out to stop them. If this fails I will uninstall it.
Most bugs have been fixed. Only setting spotify as default music not working and forcing to choose it every time among the different installed music players. Low detail in the charts make difficult seeing the top and lowest speed.
Synching and recording seem to be difficult as noted in other reviews.it is supposed to be synced with my online employer /insurance activity tracking app but it is a bit sketchy. Not intuitive and does not tell me what has synced.
Dear Runkeeper: Stop adding your crappy workouts to my list and stop bugging me to join your dumb "events." Not interested.
The splits are all over the place.just completed a run and 3 splits were wrong (1 was over 7 minutes off) but still came up with the right total time some how.
Think it should b able to sync to smart watches and have recipes for nutrition. Also can't go back and edit it workouts once u have submitted it. Need to be able to make edits
Couldn't get past the screen where you enter basic info. There is a skip button and a submit button. Neither of them works.
Crashes often. Why not simplify it. Social networks and data are nice. A functioning app would be better!
Frequently stops recording mid-activity. Does not seem to use location in the background effectively.
Great app! I love that you can track many different activities and also manually enter your workouts. It's precise and very easy to use. I also enjoy sharing my activities with my friends and family through the app. Great job, keep it up!
Used to great. Now it takes forever to get a gps signal and is innacurate.
Simple and effective. An app truly for runners. You can activate the voice according to your needs (by distance, time and get wanted info). It works fine with the audio player as well.
I have tried many GPS tracking apps, this one is the most accurate and user-friendly one I've come across. I used it for my City2Surf running, it delivered a very similar reading to my official result.
I recently started running...and trust me this app push you every single day to run even harder.....
Easy to use. Wish more features available for free. Shows split times, elevation for runs.

That is okay I like it because you can use it to track different activities. But the programmers really need to work on it it is extremely sluggish moving from screen to screen and saving activities I have a Galaxy 7 it should have plenty of horsepower but this thing moves at a snail's pace
