About Foam Roll Massage Flexibility
This is just one of several fitness apps - part of the Fitness PRO membership.
This program focuses on using a foam roller to help you massage those sore muscles before and after your workout. This program is used by fitness participants, but also by athletes who want to warm up properly before competition or a game.
Your muscles need to be properly warmed up to perform at a high level and keep your body flexible. These exercises increase the blood flow to your muscles.
Self-myofascial release, also known as “foam rolling,” or "trigger point therapy" has transformed from only being used by professional athletes, coaches, and therapists to now being a familiar everyday practice for people at all levels of fitness.
Self-myofascial release is a fancy term for self-massage to release tightness or trigger points. This method can be performed with a foam roller, lacrosse ball, Theracane, or your own hands. By applying pressure to specific points on your body you are able to aid in the recovery of muscles and assist in returning them to normal function.
