Cross Country runners have a very specific conditioning in order to achieve maximum results in their races. This program focuses on the conditioning component, specifically stamina, ankle support, core, and other training methodologies specific to cross country running! This type of running is often done on rougher terrain, so the ankles and legs need to be specially conditioned for these types of unpredictable surfaces.
This program focuses on strengthening and balancing the quadriceps, hamstrings and hips to develop the powerful strides needed for end-of-race sprints as you are finishing. Developing these muscles also helps to absorb the repetitive shock of each stride and contributes to a successful season.
Using this app in addition to workouts with hills, intervals, tempo or faster runs. Stay away from doing these routines on recovery days and long run days.
