I use this app to get my step/sleep data into the Fitbug website and that's it. The background sync doesn't work so I'm limited to manually uploading with the app open, but that's something I can live with. I'd also assumed the Orb would sync with my phone without a data connection (for the phone to sync later) but apparently not. Everything goes straight to the website, which means you can't later look at your data without being online
Works once every two days, can't log in to my account as it errors. If you bought one, take it back ASAP and get your money back. Waste of time and money. The bluetooth on my Nexus 5x doesn't work anymore, if i cant sort it out..... YOU WILL PAY FOR A NEW ONE
About 90% of the time it says data upload error. After about an hour of resetting things and pressing the button...It will work. Very frustrating. Not worth emailing etc, I've tried everything. Just going to bin it.
Just bought an orb and installed this app and I'm afraid to say it is rubbish. Will not upload data at all even though my Bluetooth is on all the time, yesterday it thought I had 2 sleeps because I had tried that much :( If it worked it would be good.
I made the mistake thinking the reviews were wrong...don't make the same mistake I did. Simply getting the device(air) and trying to switch the battery the correct way took way to long straight out the box. Then after that sign in app to no luck! Logging in online was the solution but shouldn't have to be in my opinionand even that took way longer, and was a lot more complicated in inserting details than it needed to be. Top it all off with all that effort it will not even sync!! don't make the mistake!
Firstly it doesn't pair with my Bluetooth, the Orb keeps rejecting it. Sometimes it will let me upload the data by teasing me with the little pink flashing bar, but 9/10 times I have to uninstall etc. Ok I'm giving up trying to load my steps today. This is disappointing as I work for a health company that promote these devices. I should have stayed using the Fitbug Go, no issues with that one.
I just set up a google+ account specifically to warn people how poor this is. Dont waste your money. I got a fitbug orb + the app to link to my vitality account and gain points for steps. Well ive only had it a week and already the app has stopped working and wont refresh so my activity displays as 0 .. same on my partners. No response from support so literally cant do anything until they decide to fix it. This is the second time in 6 days that the app has done this... pathetic. Honestly dont bother.
It does the job, but it's a trial. The interface ignores everything that is good about Android and persists with its own strange UI. It can't remember that I've given it permission to turn on Bluetooth. Even when I've turned off background mode it squats in the notification bar. Just poorly designed and constructed. And when you email them as suggested they just thank you for the feedback and pass it to the developers, never to be seen or heard from again. No customer support at all.
The app used for fitbug could be better. It's says about nutrition but doesn't let you put any data. Also, it will help if it give a summary of the today for the week in the app itself. The app can do with some upgrades. Also, if it allow to see other users achievements, it will help to perform better. Further, it has a place to update and change your weight...however doesn't bother to give a history of its progress. What's the point. Very annoying to get updates through emails when an app is present.
The app used to work earlier but now it just shows error no matter what option i click on. It sucks now tried reinstalling but still all that it shows is error . now i can't even login.
What is going on it keeps turning my Bluetooth off want do anything just not working ? Really irritating just read through comments should have ready these first before buying one I know these are the cheaper opposition but doesn't matter how much you pay it should work perhaps you do get what you pay for !
Item really a pain to upload data, that' s if you can! Cannot enter nutrition data or open most of the items meant to help. Maybe this is why so many were in the reduced aisle.
Keeps saying refreshing, then error try again in a few minutes. Really disappointed, was excited to get it now feel let down.
Data doesn't sync from the orb to my app and the sleep data didn't pick anything up. Very weak product, no wonder it's being given to businesses for free.
Painful to use. Slow. Freezes. Buggy. I think the crux of the problems are related to Bluetooth. On my galaxy s7 edge it constantly turns the bluetooth on and off. Had to force stop to stop the Bluetooth mayhem as it interferes with other bt devices.
It keeps on force close. Quite annoying. Trying to upload steps but app makes it difficult to do so
Nice device let down by an appalling bad Android app ! I just don't get why you would spend millions developing hardware and then not spend the 100k or so getting an Android app written by people who understand the Bluetooth stack ! I've tried several fitness trackers including Pebble and Misfit and they seamlessly sync with their apps and display the data locally even when there's no internet connection. This app repeatedly fails to sync, locks up and tells me I've walked 0 steps when it previously told me way more than this. Beacon mode doesn't work any better and just flattens the device battery really quickly. The only way to sync is to kill the app, restart it and then hit the button on the device. The app then asks if it can keep bluetooth on (why ?) but won't sync again. Come on, save your business and start again with this app !
It keeps sticking when I try to download data. Have you uninstall then re install every day. Also sleep not accurate. I do not fall asleep in five mins!
It worked fine in the beginning for a week but past two weeks it doesn't record all the steps..
Does not work with older Galaxy phones.
Totally rubbish! Annoying and frustrating, it doesn't work.
Will not close down easily
I really want to love this cause it is very simple to use but it isn't working properly with my Nexus 6P. Sometimes it will sync my steps but more times than not it doesn't sync up at all... It's there a compatibility issue with the FitBug Orb and Android 6?
Too many bugs in this app to fulfil its potential to be great. I have logged a support request, but think it will need a lot more work to fulfil its remit effectively. Come on guys, please make the improvements needed to make it work for everyone who purchases a fitbug without realising the limited number of devices it works on.
Dear fitbug I am having trouble with the app but also my orb I recived the fitbug at Christmas last year and it work fine for the first 2 weeks or so and the I sold the phone connexted to my orb ( iPhone 5) I recently aquired an android phone and my fit bug wont connect. When I press the button a red flashing light appears and never a green I went to settings but it wasnt regnosing my fitbug. I saw reviews and your product looked amazing and with the iPhone it was but now on Android my fit bug isnt working
I think I finally understand it. I thought it connected through bluetooth but apparently before my phone can receive any data it has to be connected to the internet. And i was also tol that the battery would last a good couple of months but the app is saying Ive only got 70% left and this is the first day using it. If it goes dead after four days then I will have to stop using it because I cant afford to keep spending out on new batterys every week.
Why does it keep asking to enable Bluetooth when it is already on? Why is the process of syncing with the fitbug device itself so erratic? Sometimes I have completely restart the phone to get it to talk to the device? If I didn't have to have it for Vitality it would be deleted.
Buggiest app that I have ever used!! Tried on 2 phones-HTC m9 and Samsung alpha and simply does not work. Freezes as soon as you try to upload data constantly. This needs updating now as it is not fit for purpose
FINALLY got it working, and the only way I could do this is by doing a Force Stop on the app each time I'm done with it. If left to run in the background it becomes lethargic and uncommunicative, if I wanted that I'd get married. Otherwise, it works fine, but it's not an ideal way to manage such things and it's a bit sloppy. I remain confident this will be fixed in future updates, for now. (Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9195)
I think it should be able to tell the difference between a full on walk and someone at rest.. Not accurate at all. UPDATE. My fitbug turned out to be faulty.. A replacement is on its way so hopefully it will work as new! Fingers crossed
I have had the bug for a couple of weeks now. When it works it is great, like the flexibility and options. However, it is not reliable, it just stops working. Also my battery is already at 50%, don't think I will make the advertised 6 weeks
Have I just bought a completely useless piece of tech? Are there any plans to update compatibility, or should I just throw my Orb in the bin?? Update: Now that the Fitbug team have basically answered by pointing me to the list of downgraded phones. I have reduced my evaluation to 1 star and thrown the piece of crap in the bin.
Love my fitbug n have had it for almost a year. But I've had to have it replaced once for defective not holding a charge issues.Customer service was very helpful n they sent me a replacement. Things been going well until it happened again. I'm working with fitbug right now to resolve the issue.Idk if it's not built to withstand my lifestyle, but I hope I've just got 2 bad batches n this isn't a overall quality issue. But maybe u get what you pay for. Would love if could enter activities n food in app please!
When the app works it's good although I have to uninstall it regularly as it freezes on the start up! Slow to respond to touch too.
I have a Samsung S2 with which the app is not compatible..
The fitbug app keeps stopping. It does not count the steps correct.
I have a samsung note 3 and just updated the software to 5.0. Everything worked fine until this update. All other Bluetooth devices work as expected but not my orb - I cannot get this thing to work anymore and I don't see a downgrade as an option. Edit - thanks for the reply guys but Marshmallow is not available for the note 3.
Mostly fine, but every time the phone is unlocked from screen saver I get asked to confirm the app has permission to turn on bluetooth. Can't this be made permanent? It's seriously annoying.
The site says it's compatible with my phone but when I go to pair it it says unable to communicate with the device. I don't understand why it says it is compatible when it won't work :(. Update! Thanks for replying I was able to figure out and is working now! :-)

Very occasionally plays up but most of the time works seamlessly with my Fitbug account and my Vitality account.
