About Libre Email

Most companies set up their exchange servers to force either pin code or password on your device once you set up your exchange account. A lot of people find this extremely annoying, especially since they prefer using alternative methods for securing access to their devices, methods such as "pattern swipe" or starting with Android 4.0 the really cool "face unlock" feature.

Unfortunately, the only way to bypass the corporate pin or password is not to use the stock email application. Libre is a fully featured E-Mail app based on stock Android Email. However, while being identical to the standard Android Email application in every other sense, and while maintaining the exact same look and feel you are accustomed to, it doesn't force any server security policy on you and allows you to make your own conscious decisions on which method to use for protecting access to your data.

---

Features:
- Includes all the features that stock Android email application has
- Works with any Android starting with 2.2
- Will sync calendar and contacts data with your stock calendar and contacts, (these don't need to be replaced).

Installation:
- Delete your email accounts from your old stock Email application
- Go to Settings->Location & security->Set up screen lock, and disable or set up the locking method you prefer
- Start Libre and set up your accounts. If the server requires security policy, Libre will notify you and will allow you to chose to bypass it.

Important:
Using Libre has a potential of creating a huge security risk for your personal and your organization sensitive data as the program allows you to bypass security policies set up by your system administrators. The application is provided as is, by downloading and using it you assume complete responsibility and risk for any damages or loss caused by using it. If unsure, please do not install Libre and continue using your stock Android Email application.

Never even got chance to try the app as it refuses my log on details at the server. Also Microsoft sent me an email saying someone from the Netherlands has tried to access my account right after installing this app.

Does bypass corporate security requirements. BUT lost login details twice on the first day of usage. Had to download all mails again. galaxy s 2 - stock 2.3.5

This is great, for the simple fact that it works with "No Lock" and I don't have to swipe my phone every time I want use it. That is the Advertised feature that is correct. The things that are not "As Advertised" It doesn't look like the "Stock Email application" for Corporate Sync, different colors and fonts. Once I select an e-mail I can't see a way to move it to a different folder, like you can with the "Stock Email application" for Corporate Sync. All of the folders you have are listed alphabetically, even if they are a sub-folder. With the "Stock Email application" for Corporate Sync, Sub-folders are listed as sub-folders to it's parent folder. All this in just five minutes of use. I will look around for other options before I make this my exchange e-mail software. If you fix these things I would use it.

Went back an hour later to check email and it wanted me to add the account again.

move messages to other folders. It's fairly hard on the eyes too, I would love to be able to customize the look. Those complaints aside, I will likely purchase a license.

I only have issues with the attachments..

Works fine when I setup my Exchange account but it keeps disappearing. I've tried rebooting, uninstall/install. Samsung Galaxy Player YP-G70 / 2.3.5.

On dell venue, the exxchange mail configuration vanishes automatically.. it happens on every 2 or 3 days. sometimes even frequently. And it requires 2 times to feed the personal exchange credential to configure exchange mail via libre.

Finally got rid of the annoying 6-digits PIN required by our IT department. Now I'm back in control of my phone, and still can access corporate mail.

Not working on Galaxy Nexus. It just keeps returning to the account setup page. No list of compatible Android versions available. No support forum.

As others have posted, it kept losing my server/username information. Almost every time I launched the app, it would start over, asking me for server information. I sent a support email to the developer, with no response after more than a week. I suggest trying "Email+". It's not free, but is only $0.99, and it worked reliably for me to access Exchange email without the remote administration security settings.
