About Trimmer (fstrim)

★ THIS APP REQUIRES ROOT! ★
★ THIS APP SUPPORTS ANDROID 5 LOLLIPOP ★

Trim Explanation:
Almost all Android devices use NAND chips for data storage. Because of how NAND chips work, they may become significantly slow after some time. Trimming would help to restore NAND Chips performance to their initial value. Although Android 4.3+ supports trim natively, users have no control over this process and Android doesn't trim the storage for a very long time.
"Trimmer (fstrim)" helps you to run trim on your device manually if you feel it has become laggy.
This app is proudly free and adfree.

I'm new to the whole ROOTING thing and have been testing it out with as many configurations as my free time allows.. this app has HANDS DOWN shown me the biggest, most immediate improvement so far. So much so that I felt obligated to write the first app review that I have ever done in my 5 years of owing a smart device. FROM A NEW USERS PERSPECTIVE, this app is awesome!

E70%
by E####:

I've only used it for a couple days but it has found some areas to trim up. And I believe I've seen performance increase but I've been using it in concert with a couple of other applications. It's nice to see an app that does what it's supposed to without being completely loaded down with nothing but ads. Kudos boys for actually making an app without trying to bully everyone into buying it by throwing up every couple seconds. Keep up the good work.

I use this app on all my Nexus devices, and it does exactly what it says, keeps em running smooth as silk, stops or REALLY, REALLY slows the aging process that comes with using NAND chips. Keep up the awesome work! 2/16/17 Hey Homeboy, your app really kicks ass!! I have been using it since it was available on the play store and it has kept all of my phone's integrity, responsiveness and without any lag,or other signs of wear to the Nand chips. From my Galaxy Nexus, thru the 4,5,5X,6P, & My PIXEL XL. All of them still work as if you just unboxed them. Thanks for all of your time and hard work.

I have a 4 yr old Samsung Note running Android 4.1.2 that I kept for emergencies. Unfortunately, even after rooting and wiping it the lag was often so bad it was almost unusable. After running Trimmer once the lag is gone and the phone is very usable again. Fantastic! Thanks for a great tool.

X70%
by X####:

I tried everything to get the lag to go away after a bad flash it really made my system hiccup and I didn't want to have to reflash but after using this the lag was basically gone and now I just set it to trim once a day and I'm good. Thanks dev for making this free I would gladly pay for this app.

Phone is performing better now. Just root your phone, delete unused apps and files as well as install apps you will actually use. Just a question to the developer: is it always safe to perform fstrim operation on /system partition after deleting and replacing certain apps? Im using Android 4.3.

Q70%
by Q####:

For the automated trimming, the app calls fstrim from the system's PATH, and this results in error as the fstrim bin is non existent in my system. All these weeks, I thought the app was trimming my storages, only to realise it didn't. If the trimming is done from within the app, it works, and when i check the supersu log, it calls fstrim from the apps data folder. Fix suggestion: make the scheduled action to call the fstrim from the app data folder instead from system PATH. Temporary workaround: ln -s the bin towards the one in /data.

But the autotrim is not. At first it was good. But it stopped trimming automatically, even though it is scheduled once everyday. I checked your app and found out that "Next trim is on August 23". Yeah it stopped these past four days.

I have a Samsung 4.1.2 that is about 3 of years old. I have rooted it to give me more control to delete bloatware and stop background apps from running. After installing this application I noticed a big difference right away,Like new great job! Thanks!!

X70%
by X####:

I was skeptical, but it's working very well! My phone was really slow, specially to open apps. Reflashing ROMs was not helping. But this app gave it a new youth!

X70%
by X####:

Actually works. Got rid of scroll lag in google play. I checked for lag on this app page, scrolled up and down and saw it was laggy, installed the app and trimmed all three options, came back and now lag free. Nice.

by A####:

My OnePlus One had become very laggy when applying multiple updates from Google Play. It would hang for up to 30 seconds between updates. After running trimmer my updates are fast and smooth again, as well as most all other functions on my phone. Thanks for a great utility!

by G####:

If the tablet seems to be getting a bit slow (even though I have autotrim set to run every morning) a quick trim with this and I really see a difference!! Recommended

X70%
by X####:

My Nexus 9 would run slow and I would have to manually clean the cache everyday by booting into recovery mode. This app cleans on a schedule and works even better than my manual clean! Great!

X70%
by X####:

If your device has open root then this utility will by and far keep it running lag free. Remember, Android performs this already but this utility gives you the option of cleaning the Nand chip at will. If you dont know what this all means then read up and learn or go back to using a landline or 2 bean cans and a string to make calls.

But stop bugging me to rate your app after I have already rated it. Dropped another star for the continuous nagging!

X70%

Couldn't believe how much this was able to trim! Unreal! No wonder my phone was slow and occasionally freezing up. This app is the real deal.

X70%

Works perfectly on my Nexus 7 (2012). My device would be unusable without this utility. For some reason I need to trim a lot and I just enabled twice a day auto trimming.

auto trim didn't seem to work before version 1.34, but now it appears to work. Manual trim looks like it has always worked. Tablet is typically faster for a while immediately after running trim.

This app had no ads! And is free. Hard to find these days. Also noticed huge improvement on xperia x performance. Less heat and longer runtime. Not sure about the speed as it's always fast. Left a review to show support as there is no ads in this app.

Does what it says on the tin. Only annoying thing is the nag to go rate it. I hope it won't pop up again after this. Edit December 2016: nag screen still nagging. -1 star.

E70%
by E####:

Only thing wrong is that I can't have it auto run more often. My aging tablet that is stuck on 5.1.1 needs to be trimmed practically every 10 minutes. Would love to see an option to set your own frequency, or even one to have it do it every hour. Just something more than twice a day.

X70%
by X####:

Not being too exaggerated but yeah the struggle is real and appears slowly, but thanks to your app it fixes your problem.

I trimmed all three partitions, and now my phone flies. It's not placebo either, it used to hang loading up Gapps.. THANK YOU!!

Always thought lags were just part of how crap android is but having this set to a schedule keeps my phone fast

Sheds the invisible grease that slows your mobile device. Difference very clear compared to devices that can't be cured due to buggy mem chipset.

The best app (root or otherwise) in existence. Returned my 4 year old nexus 7 tablet to day 1 speeds. The tablet was unusable prior even after rooting and wiping all data.

This app is fantastic. Set it up to trim automatically every day at 05:00. My phone is running much faster and better. My phone is a Galaxy S3 nearly two years old. Glad I dropped on this app. So are my friends. Many thanks to the developers.

Works perfectly for newer versions of Android where other apps fall short, makes a difference when your filesystem needs trimmed. Perfect addition to your normal maintenance routine.

X70%

Simply does what it says even has settings to do it automatically (I set it on mine to weekly). Plus the fact that it's Free and doesn't have ads is a plus. (Though if that ever changes. I'm fine with unobtrusive ads).

I ran this first on a OnePlus One with 3gb RAM & 64gb storage space built in, Cyanogen OS 13.1.2. Didn't notice a change in things either way but suspected since the OPO was running well not much could be done to tangibly improve it so I installed on a Galaxy Nexus Prime, about 10 years old, just under 1gb RAM, 16gb storage space in total also running Cyanogen (Mod) 13 albeit at full throttle and starting to struggle to perform the basics. One run of this and it was like a new phone. Seriously impressed!!

Lagfix which I paid for says device partitions unsupported. This app trims them just fine, and provides terminal output support as proof. Superb

Usually I'm too lazy to write reviews for apps. But on a whim I downloaded this app for my rooted htc one s running jellybean. I was ready to take a hammer to this phone for how frustratingly buggy and slow it was. I was angry because I refused to believe a dual core processor with a gig of ram would actually be this slow when I only use it for some web browsing and Facebook. This app fixed everything. Something about trimming not part of Android until later causes the system to slow down over time. Ran the app once. Took about a minute. Since that time the phone had been smooth and snappy. Wow. Anyone running jellybean or older should have this app.

X70%
by X####:

Trimmer is easy to use with an adequate UI. However it claimed that it had finished the Trim process on my rooted Hudl 1 tablet, but the Log remained empty. Also the memory speed remained painfully slow, with no change. This 16GB tablet has 8 free, so nowhere near full. The Lagfix app refused to run, stating that the Nand memory was incompatible with Fstrim, the underlying code in both apps. I have to conclude that Trimmer did nothing at all on this occasion.

X70%
by X####:

Critical for my older devices. It makes the difference between usable and trash. My new devices don't need it however, faster flash memory and better deafault Android trim settings take care of things.
