Translator for Android
I almost started using it over google and bing translate since it seemed to have a much clearer, easier to understand, and slow speaking voice that did not sound like a computer. The flashing adds on every screen, the full page adds that popup every time you hit the translate button have driven me away. Neither bing nor google have adds or if they do I don't even notice. And the speaking voice that I liked quit working. Yes all sound was on full.
I rated it 4 stars because it's very useful and very helpful. More helpful than Google Translate. I was about to give it all 5 stars but then I remembered not all the languages give you a pronunciation. Just some of them that's the only flaw to it. Other than that it's great.
A cool little translation app. It has Klingon in it! Would be better if it also has Elf language. The only shortcoming of this app is that it requires Internet connection to do the translation, which isn't always feasible when traveling.
I wish it included different dialects. Not everyone speaks "spain spanish" but it gets the job done. Also, not every language has a vocal component. Hopefully it's a work in progress
Oh my gosh... This app is much useful for me.. Very easy to use and it's so awesome..... Loving it so much... Now I can easily learn my boyfriend's language
Only think I don't like is I'm used to having a translator that automatically translates pages that pull up in, say, German, and this doesn't do that. Or I haven't found it yet if it does. Other than that, it works well
I was utilizing another translator app that was decent, and worked well. During an attempted translation I was having difficulty. Stumbled across this app and was surprised on how well it worked. If only my phone worked as well. Spanish to English and vice versa
I have used reverso for about 4 years on my dell desktop computer and it is reliable and accurate and has never presented any problems at all.100% happy and have just installed it on my Sony experia and it is the same accurate and easy interface on android so far. Again I am 100 % happy :-)
So many wrong translations... Don't even bother. Also, the app forces you to look at a full screen advertisement for every single translation. What a joke. Yet another thing, it pushes my volume to maximum whenever I want to listen to the translation, even after I manually lower it!
Too basic, one word translation often fails, more than one word even more problematic. List of languages are messed up, no alphabetical or any order whatsoever. Really, nothing good to say.
It's a fatal flaw to translate French words without saying what gender - because you can not form a French sentence without knowing whether the noun is masculine/fem. for def/indéf article (le,la,un,une), pronouns (son,sa,ce,cette, mon,ma, etc etc!) as well as agreememt of adjectives. Fatal flaw in any french translator. Reverse by comparison is on another planet.
I am an investigator and I needed an app that could be used to translate conversations of people that are nearby from voice to text. The regular microphone icon is not sufficient for investigative purposes.
So far so good. I know a lot of Spanish so if the translation doesn't look right I try saying it a different way until i get what I want. It is helping me with my oral spanish because it is nice to have a list of phrases handy.
I love the app but I have to keep installing and uninstalling because it freezes up. The other problem I have with this is, unless you say small sentences it doesn't translate right. Me and my sweetheart speak two different languages and we depend on this app to communicate daily. It can be frustrating at times when it doesn't work. But we are blessed to have something at least.
My Chinese massage therapist wants to tell me something but the app does not understand and tries to type her words in English characters instead of Chinese. When I speak Hindi to the app it writes what I say in the devengari script and translates. Why won't it understand her Chinese? I have it set Chinese simplified (her choice) to English.
Anyway i usually type a sentence in English to dutch and save it so i wrote it to my friend and shes like wtf are you trying to say? Im like your a nice friend she's like stop using that app it doesn't even make sense and she knows dutch more than you guys. Even Google Translate is better.
Great but if it is possible can you make it so I don't need an Internet connection to use it. It might be hard but try, but if you look past that it is good at its job
You have freaking Klingon, but you do not have any Sub-Saharan African languages whatsoever? Have you any idea how useless and narrow minded that is? Wake the f#$k up!
I've tried other translated apps, but they didn't do what I wanted. This app is perfect. It translates from English to Chinese from your voice, not texting. Recommend it highly.
I forgot I had this on my phone. I studied Spanish for four years in high school so I can read it fairly well. What a bonus to have the audio to confirm my pronunciation. Now I can say more than Solo hablo Español poco.
This is such a handy app for travelling. Although it's still good form to learn some local language, this will help you communicate with so many more people. Had a little difficulty with Aussie pronunciation.
... I was testing it to see how well it did. I gave it specific French phrases German phrases and even some Spanish phrases, and it never got any of them right! And I know I'm saying it correctly so this thing sucks!
I was using it to help a student taking first year Spanish. But it wouldn't translate half of what we needed it to, so it was pretty much useless.
This app would be great of it were not for the stupid screen we are forced to clear first that advertises some audio book app or whatever it is. I don't take much notice of such things and I doubt a lot of people do. It's annoying ... translator is meant to be used to communicate which is normally in urgency or need. Who wants to have to first close down some irrelevant screen surely this defeats the objective of the app
I would sincerely like to know why the "Portuguese" flag is the one from Brasil when Portugal is the official country with that language? I'm Portuguese and I feel deeply insulted by it. Other than that, I believe that this is a good, useful and easy app.
This app is so helpfull for me even sometimes just stuck for a while when i need to hear what that spell in korean or japanese b'cz i don't know 'bt the words.. but over all is so helpfully..
We have foreign exchange students at our home for two weeks. This app seems to help us with some of our communication issues. So far so good.
I had the person speaking directly into the phone speaking Vietnamese and it could not translate. After trying several times to translate both ways I uninstalled.
Literally from the very first time I tried using it failed on me. The app would open up, but whenever I tried translating something I received a pop up say "Unfortunately translator has stopped." I gave it several tries, but it still wouldn't translate once.
Does what I need it too which is very simple word translation. Don't know about idioms and things like that, but for what I needed it works fine.
I've been using this device to translate between English and Japanese. Everytime I saw the translation it did, I was screaming and wanted to smack it!
Keeps crashing on my phone (KitKat). I think the full screen ads are the issue. Works better on my tablet (Jellybean). Edited: less crashing on phone. Upgraded my rating to 5 stars. Merci beaucoup!
I thought this app would be great, but it keeps crashing in Mid sentence. Once or twice isn't bad this thing crashes everytime I try to use it period nexus 6P - 7.0 Nougat
Works Awesome... My daughter has a classmate. His mother knows little English... So, What a Saver on Hand Motions:)
This is the only translator app you need. Others are not as accurate as this app.
Great apps. Simple to use and very effective and convenient.
Speaking Spanish only works for me if they are working somewhere else and not for me. My "Nanny" started a fire in the babies room. By draping one of my wife's Hermes Scarfs over a lamp Dispute warnings she did it again then abandoned the baby and went outside to tell fireman to GET BABY! GET BABY! luckily my baby was rescued but with some smoke inhalation a week later the botch filed a $1.5 million dollar lawsuit for forced work in a dangerous environment and sexual harrassment . Notch gotta be taken out
I use this app from time to time to help with the conversations that I have with a member of church. Comes in handy that the app is actually speak what ever I needed to translate. Would be fun if it would speak Klingon though
I love it so much because know that I know how to speak any language and I will fool and teach my friends some of the language!

Very easy to use, does the translation well, sometimes the way certain languages conjugate does not refelect the thought accurately. But that can be attributed to user syntax or language use. The advertising jumps right in as soon as you open the app, can be annoying at times. In general, the translation app is works above expectations. This an excellent resource to have on your phone.
