Star Wars™ Dice for Android
At first I was dubious considering the price and I already have dice.. However this is good. Very easy to add or remove dice,, what appears to be unlimited presets, and a few sound/background options, and it turns out it's worth it if you don't want actual dice. Please support split screen
Statistics on pools of d6 are badly skewed towards >3. The rest of the app just really nicely done but since it's propose is to replace dice, thus random number generation, it fails at that. Send code, happy to help fix it. :)
Well if you use the 6 sided normal dice from the app the results will almost always be 4's or higher like 5/6 of the times when i roll. Gives an inaccurate result and i am then also distrustful in its algorithms for all its other results.
Awesome app I have been finding my self getting offers to play and not have my dice on me so now I always have them.
Needs to be updated for Rise of the Empire expansion for Rebellion.
The App works great but it needs to incorporate the dice from the REBELLION expansion Rise of the Empire
I find this app useful. Just wish my group wouldn't tease me for not always using real dice. ????
Most utilitarian app for five rolling, and not just for star wars dice!
would be better with the imperial result shown on the upper side, with distinct color for each side red and green on X wing min
Add Legion dice, please!
Does exactly what it is meant to do and has the added bonus of doing it well.
Great app, waiting on Legion to be supported though.
Does what it does well, smoothly and simply
At first I was dubious considering the price and I already have dice.. However this is good. Very easy to add or remove dice,, what appears to be unlimited presets, and a few sound/background options, and it turns out it's worth it if you don't want actual dice. My only suggestion is a red ring around dice that cancel whatever is selected (eg failure shown in red if you select success) if you have cancel dice enabled.
This app is much cheaper than buying physical dice for EotE (especially since you'll probably want at least two sets) and it can cancel out symbols so you can quickly see your results. This really speeds things up in play!
Paid For App, but now Android v2.3.4 Gingerbread O/S - Tegra2 chipset - is giving: 'Failure to initialise! Your Hardware does not support his application, sorry!' error on startup? - Developers, please rectify!
This is a great app, really well thought out and has dice to more than just one game. I use it for Edge of the Empire and X-wing
The dice rolling itself is great, but it needs a way to add fixed results (eg, curved hilt adding 1 advantage after roll) to the total.
The roller works great, friendly and colorful. I wish the dice settings would stay when you close though. I always have to add my preset dice pool in again, and have to check the "cancel results". Please update the app do I don't need to adjust settings each time
Still prefer real dice but these come in super handy when the dice guy forgets his dice.
Cheaper and much easier than using the dice.
This is one of the best dive apps i have use. Can be used for almost any game that needs dice.
Its dice for starwars games
As good as you can expect.
No worth 5 bucks imo
It can be especially useful when working out overall results in, for example, Imperial Assault. Not quite as satisfying as rolling the real thing, but that's always going to be the case.
It also has supporting typical RPG di. Less expensive than purchasing a full set of SW di and all the others. and if your a parent of a toddler, no choking hazards/ opportunity to step on them in the middle of the night cos he was using said di to create a special garden.
As it pertains to X Wing, this app would be better if there were laser blaster sounds for when the red attack dice are rolled and engine sounds for the green dice being rolled. Each faction would have their own distinct sounds e.g. Empire has Tie fighter engine sounds with the rattle snake-like laser sounds.
Useful for when I don't want to reach across the table playing Imperial Assault. Hope they update to add Rebellion dice soon!
Love this app! Looks great, animations are fast and fluid, and it's useful for more than just Star Wars games. My minor quibble is that the interstitial animations can't be disabled, so it takes an extra second to navigate around the app. If the animations could be disabled or toned down as an option, that would definitely earn this great app a 5.
One of the best dice apps and it covers standard polyhedrals as well. It's also cheaper than a set of dice. Then it is all topped off in the SW theme. What's not to love?
Cheaper than dice and great for pre-assembling dice pools. I use it more for the rpgs... not sure if people prefer real dice for the other games. Looks great but can sound annoying at times. Overall good.
If you haven't got the money or space for all those expensive dice for the RPGs: Age of Rebellion, Edge of the Empire and Force and Destiny (They all use same dice) including the D10s, I mean literally every dice you need. Then this is your app. Well worth the price it even presents the result of the dice roll if you can't be bothered counting the symbols yourself. Even if you have the dice, buy it anyway as a standby. That way you'll never go to a game empty handed.
Great app to use for the RPG in particular given that there are some scenarios where the dice pool can get rather large! Took a bit of fiddling to figure out the interface so a short tutorial might be helpful but overall wasn't too hard to get it.
Needs an sound volume slider and would totally get a 5 from me if you could sync a bunch of Star Wars dice roller apps together for a group game.
Little on the pricey side for what it is. Much cheaper than going and buying extra dice, however. Recommend using this app on something easy to shake, like a phone.
I just played the rpg for the first time last night. As a novice it took some time to calculate the results of a die roll. The cancel out feature of this app removes the need to do the calculation manually, and will surely speed up gameplay. I recommend this for anyone willing to use digital die.
The general utility is high... but what it doesn't do is important, especially when GMing or playing non-FFG games. It doesn't allow changing colors of standard dice, so you cannot roll multiple sets easily. It doesn't have d100 pairing, so you can't readily roll multiple crits (such as from autofire) at once. So, i'll generally stick to real dice.
Well designed app. Does it's job well.
