XCOM: TBG

Terrible insult to Xcom. It has no true pause (amount of total pause time for a game is limited by a clock that it doesn't show you.) Disaster cards are extremely illogical. Especially the flavor texts for ones such as loosing your reasurch. (Somebody confiscating your captured aleins because of inhumane treatment).

Was worried about this when I first heard about it but turns out it is a fantastic integration of a board game with an app that actually adds to the game and really works to drive it forward. Just missing something at the end, beating this game is not that easy and the end graphic is a let down. Adding some kind of epic conclusion scene would take this to a 5-star app. Power drain also needs addressing, have to play plugged in.

Awesome game; extremely fast paced and so very manic! Some odd comments by others though. I don't think they understand the point of the app...

Well produced, the app does all the leg work and useful information is always at hand if you forget about the rules. The game itself is fun but don't expect it to be a tactical game. It's more of a resource management game... A fun one. The 5 stars is for the app and it's great design. I would give the game itself 4 stars.

The board game is amazing, v difficult when at high speed (which works well) you have to play through a few games before it makes sense but relatively smooth gameplay, the app adds to the tension of the board game but make sure you have your charger handy!

Works like a charm and gives you the exact feelimg of the PC game. The Game is quite complex and you will barely grasp it through the app, unless you have the PC game which means you know how things work. Best thing to do in ANY case is to watch gameplay videos on YouTube. I'm playing with an S3 Neo and this app is just perfect.

This app along with the game manual has to be one of the worst ive ever come across. Doesnt teach you the game in a logical manner and the app should be an excellent source of tuition but instead makes everything more confusing. Have a reasonable amount of tabletop experience but just dont understand this one! Half arsed and illogical . Needs totally revising to make any sense. Such a shame as i love xcom!

We spent an hour or two trying to play this with the board game. Eventually we got so bored of all the reading we gave up. Definitely applaud the idea of combining board game with mobile app, but the execution just tedious and dull.

This is an example of a companion app done right! Really is an original and innovative move for a board game. The tutorial is great, and the app keeps the game moving at a suitably relentless pace! Cannot believe how many people have left confused reviews on here as if this was a self contained game...

The tutorial is over-complicated and badly explained. In addition, both the app and the game, are awkwardly translated in italian. All of this made our game experience really poor.

We were a little wary of a board game that needs an app to be playable, but being fans of cooperative board games, we gave it a chance. The differentiated roles for each player really make this game stand out. The rules seem complex at first, but once players learn them, the game is fast paced and fun. The first few turns are always hardest

Theres hardly any reading (save for the science role) for eveyone else its a balancing act of "risk/cash in - reward/cash out" this app does a really nice job of adding a neutral adversary without taking the board component out of "board game" and lets all people involved to maxi mize enjoyment in a Co op experience.

Amazingly fast paced for a board game. Well thought out with a variety of difficulty levels that let you keep on playing.

The game is good, the app certainly makes it work, but be warned, the game consumes a lot of battery life. Best played while plugged into a charger.

A needed app to play the board game. Hard to be negative when it is a necessity!

Awesome idea and great execution. I love this game. Will play it whenever I can. But don't be dumb and think this app is the game, get into real life sometime!

I was laughing while reading the comments. I cant believe all the negative ratings because people thought this was a game. They dont realize its a companion app to the board game. Cant wait to give this a try.

The app explains all in game features but it doesn't tell how to execute the cards or even how to pull one up for use. Even in tutorial mode it doesn't show how to access playing cards. I was a big XCOM pc gamer back in the day and this p.o.s. is not an improvement over those games. Simply put don't waste your time or ram on this version. DISAPPOINTING!

This is an app that you download so you can play the XCOM board game by Fantasy Flight Games. Don't give the game app a bad rating because you're not paying attention. The very first line of the description tells you this. That said, the board game is a ton of fun and the app is very well implemented.

The app is very well designed and put together, while the board game itself can be difficult depending on your skill level it is still fair. Its a blast to play and it really does the video game justice. A save feature may be a good implementation as well as maybe an expansion for Xcom Enemy Within. Just some ideas to consider.

Everyone who is rating this app down complaining about lack of game play should really read the description. It's for the boardgame you morons. Aside from that. An awesome app. Beautiful boardgame and finally an innovate way to introduce our technology into a timeless hobby. Good job FFG
