Glance Note for Simplenote for Android
Why do I need two programs for one and the same thing??
Only four stars because I need a version without ads. A pay version please.
This app has no great bells and whistles but it meets my needs very well on my Galaxy S3. I have no problem with the lack of automatic sync, particularly as I am often roaming. One thing that bugs me! The app does not appear to keep the sort order: I set it for alpha asc, but next time that I open the app it has reverted to sort by modify timestamp. It would also be great if the listing could show only the title: I am not interested in the timestamp - it takes up space and means that I can only see half the number of items in a screen
can view without being thrown into edit mode. can explicitly refresh. can sort and assign tags. great.
Coming from Palms and Treos. I needed a good simple note taking app that has desktop capability. Tried Flick Note, Notational velocity, Jade Note, mNote and Andronoter before settling with Glance Note. It is simple, sync with simplenote and works off line. It does not have auto sync feature but I can live with it. Search field should be on main screen rather than going through menu. Touch keyboard should come on automatically when you choose find function. Notes does not show up in google search of the phone. (Notes in Flick Note and Notational aceleration showed up in google search.) These are minor annoyances compared to problems with other android simplenote clients. If you want a simple note taking app that works on desktop and can live with above shortcomings, this app is for you.
Downloaded, synced smoothly, and done. Which Notational Acceleration never did. Clean interface. I'm thrilled.

Glance Note is a terrific straightforward and easy to use text editor as well as a SimpleNote client assisting text to seamlessly synchronise between android, pc and apple environments. It’s the best way I have found to easily synchronise text across multiple platforms – and I have tried around 6 others. The Authors responded quickly to a recent glitch and had their program back synchronising in no time. Thanks very much. I could not praise it more.
Doesn't work offline, and UI doesn't follow the new ICS/JB standards. The search and tagging issues are not a problem for me. I am running Galaxy Nexus now on Jelly Bean 4.1 and Asus Infinity now also running Jelly Bean 4.1. Both however, were used on ICS. In the 1.3 version, I had an issue with creating new notes. I emailed the developer, and the issue was promptly fixed and the developer responded to me notifying of the fix. Truly appreciated!! Definitely my preference over the other SimpleNote apps out there.
On my Nexus 7 (Jelly Bean 4.1) it would not sync. At first, I thought it was because it wasn't taking my Password. I wrote to the Developer and they said that it didn't 'show' my Password (even as ***** but that it was still 'Storing it'. I wrote back and said "OK, but it's still not working. It keeps telling me that 'sync failed'... Why?". They then alerted me of a new update that they said fixed my issue. I tried out the new version and it is now working well on my Nexus w/Jelly Bean.
Does what I need& is super easy to navigate
Doesnt sync automatically? Doesn't save when offline??
Hey, can't I save a note when offline???
Every Simplenote app pales in comparison. I wish it worked on ICS....
One of the few simplenote apps that appears to sync properly. Tags do not appear in menu list ... not able to filter by tag.
I think this app has the potential to be the best Simplenote syncing app on the market. I agree with the other comments - remove adds and work out the kinks, that's it!
If you edit a note and press back, it throws away you're edits without even warning you. The ideal would be to automatically save, but the base minimum is not to lose your edits. And the font is to big.
works ok, but to much ads.
Current version lacks ability to enter note when not connected: save and sync must be separated. Also, when in edit mode, I can't scroll a note to add something at the end if the note is longer than the screen shows.
Decent app but no ability to sort notes alphabetically.
Needs an option to pay to remove ads
Nice, clean UI that doesn't have status bars or buttons taking up space. Neat feature for markdown preview. Hopefully will update with more features including a paid version without ads, font size options, and a widget
can i backup note because i will uninstal and fill to another phone.
Works perfectly. Simple. Small. Just what I need.
This app is perfect in purpose & design! It works flawlessly & brings the entire philosophy behind Simplenote to Android! Perfect interface for distraction free reading! Is lightning fast & reliable!
Markdown support is very good! I agree with some comments: UI could be improved a bit, keep up the good work!

I had some sync issues in the official Simplenote app, but this one works very good so far! I agree with some comments: UI could be improved a bit, keep up the good work!
This is my favorite Simplenote app and I have tried a bunch. Would give it five stars except the ui needs work. There should be a search bar at the top rather than having to click multiple times to search. It should be easier to edit as well (sweeping to the side?). If a note is edited, and then back is pressed without making changes, the user is presented with a confusing cancel dialog. Fix some of these things and it would be a great app.
I've tried them all. This one just came out of nowhere. Syncing appears flawless (I have > 150 notes) and the performance is amazing. Markdown support is a bonus.
Only four stars because I need a version without ads. A pay version please.
Remove the ads please. The app should become popular first. Otherwise it's just annoying and doesn't make you any money. Also, add a paid version.
Easy and just works. Saves all my ideas and notes and let's me find them effortlessly.
I cant install on my huawei phone. It says package is not signed
Coming from WebOS, I was disappointed that there was not a client like Noted! for Android. After trying all the Simplenote apps, I settled on Glance Note because it syncs properly and has a light-colored background. I would like to see the sort option made persistent between sessions and greater control over font size. Otherwise, it works well. Update 7/3/2013 Glad to see offline editing implemented - good work. Sort order still not persistent.
2.0 Update broke sync; Solution? Get the official SimpleNote app instead Glance Note was the best SimpleNote client I found among many subpar offerings in the Play store. It was the best, until the 2.0 update broke my sync. Lo and behold, SimpleNote finally released their own native app for Android and it's great! Thanks Glance Note, for tiding me over for so long. If it wasn't for breaking my sync, I probably wouldn't have ever noticed that SimpleNote came out with their own app just yesterday. What a coincidence!
Option (paid, I suppose) to remove ads is so needed. Nevertheless, it's the best app for simplenote service. Thanks!
Needs automatic sync and a cleaner uite, for starters. It takes a minimum of three taps to edit a note.
