About Server Status (for Minecraft)
Server Status is an app that gets information from Minecraft servers. With only a user-supplied server address (no mods or plugins!), this app can retrieve the number of players, message of the day, a sample of online players (for 1.7 servers that have this feature enabled), network latency (predicted lag), and more! Server Status is also able to list Minecraft Pocket Edition servers on the local (wireless) network.
Widgets and notifications are supported as well, making it even easier to check your favorite Minecraft server! Notifications can be set to trigger when a server is down or has a certain number of players, and widgets can show the number of players online for any number of servers you choose.

This app needs some permissions to run, namely INTERNET (needs to ask servers over the internet), ACCESS_WIFI_STATE (for broadcast addresses, to use for Pocket Edition servers) and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE (checks to see if wifi/mobile data is enabled, if not, alert the user accordingly).

This app seems great, though right away I discovered that each server can have only one notification. A server host who plays on his own server would find it convenient if he could be notified when someone is on and if the server is down.

What you see is what you get. Great application and a must have for MC multiplayers. There is a ton of similar ones out there, but they either lie about capabilities or just don't work. Get this one.

This app is great at doing exactly what it is advertised to do - check the status of your server. I think the fact that you can view the ping and names of online players are bonuses, and I don't expect any more features. The widget and notifications are also very handy too. I have used this app with everything from the 1.7.3 beta right up to the 1.7.10 release. It works with all the modded servers I have ever tried too (Bukkit, Forge, Spout, KCauldron).

The app itself is very functional, but I have problems with widgets. I have a server running, and I can see its status from the main app, but the widget never connects.

I love this idea. Does it work with realms? Also, it should support SRV records. It's totally valid to have a server name that doesn't directly resolve to an ip address, but has a SRV pointer to a port+hostname. 5 stars when this is fixed!

the app works fine for me (using default ports). the only thing that bugs me is that it still sends notifications if i'm on the server. If there could be a place in the app to put your minecraft name so it turns off notifications while you're in-game that'd be really cool.

There's a moment when you just realize that what you just found is flipping amazing, exactly what you want, and you think it couldn't get any better. And then there's moments like when I found this app, where it's flipping amazing, exactly what I want, and oh what's this it also tells me what version and how many people are on my server AND it's version and can alert me to how any people are on, PLUS IT HAS A WIDGET! Great job on this truly truly amazing ! This could be a paid app for real.
