Prestissimo is an open source library that adds variable speed playback functionality to your audio applications. It is a free drop-in replacement for the Presto Sound Library Open Beta. It is used to speed up podcast and audiobook playback.
You must use a podcatcher or audio player that supports Presto. The player will provide the interface to control playback speed. This means you will not see Prestissimo in your app drawer because the app installs as a service.
If you currently use Presto or another service that uses the Presto API, you should uninstall it before installing Prestissimo.
Prestissimo should work with any app that supports Presto, but it is currently confirmed to work with:
- AntennaPod
- BeyondPod
- Akimbo
Prestissimo currently supports Android 4.1+ only.

Works great with AntennaPod but I noticed my battery draining a lot. I went into battery settings and Prestissimo used 21% but AntennaPod only used 12%. Love the faster playback but not enough for that.

Simply installed it and it just works seamlessly with AntennaPod. The only downside is it doesn't has option to down the play speed once it gets it up. Better still if there is also a option for normalising.

This seems to have less lag than what BeyondPod uses natively. For those whining about the $4 that aocate was charging for presto, think about this. He put forth a lot of work and released something that was pretty rare. You should be grateful for this package. I have spent about $20 on Pod catchers and speed tools. Don't spit on a developer for tying to make a living.

I can't thank you enough. I was holding off on buying Presto because of the price. Just installed this and it's working great. Playing at 2x speed on BeyondPod and breezing through podcasts I have been falling behind on. Great work and I hope DoggCatcher and BeyondPod are watching so they can give their customers an option to paying almost as much or more for Presto than they did for their app.

I was having trouble on Dogcatcher where it would stall when changing audio files. So I submitted an issue on the developers website, and he had a fix released within 24 hours. Very fast work, I guess that is why he is called TheRealFalcon :)

Samsung Galaxy Stellar SCH-I200 with Jellybean 4.1.2and BeyondPod installed. BeyondPod recognised the plug-in was there but would not play with it installed. As soon as I removed Prestissmo BeyondPod began working again.
