Hello — Caller ID & Blocking for Android
This app has potential. Even though it is set as the default dialer on my Samsung Galaxy S6, my old dialer app is answering calls. This needs to be fixed. It would be simpler if Facebook would allow people to sync to Facebook contacts to their phone contacts like they used to.
It's a decent app so far, but i can see two huge improvements: add a white/yellow pages directory (facebook information can be rather limited), and integrate messenger. If this could be done, I could easily knock out three or four of my other apps. I'll be keeping an eye on this one, but not something I'll keep just yet.
I have used this app for a long time now with no problems. But since I started unchecking the box to save a contact 'on my device' , my Hello contacts have started disappearing mostly at random. It's bad enough now, that I can add a new contact today with a phone number and more, then tomorrow it won't be there. I am going to start checking the box again to 'save to device' to see if this works, but if you could look into this, it would be very helpful.
Great app but it is missing connectivity between apps--especially Facebook apps, which is weird. After updating contacts, linking Facebook pages and updating to my contacts full names, everything is awesome on Facebook Hello. However if you click to send sms, it will open up Facebook Messenger and it still shows the old information that you had just updated. Can't figure out how to sync it out of the Hello account, into phone wide. Otherwise I haven't tried the blocker but the id and search is amazing.
Callerid great. The call log only has some incoming calls and barely any outgoing :( really frustrating it's not capturing all the #s especially for google voice google hangout users.
This app is invading my privacy. It is switching my Location on ahnd reactivating location on ust two seconds after I switch it off. Even Google does not do that. Also, I was unable to delete it from Accounts. I will uninstall it for these reasons.
Good idea in concept but does not work. The caller ID pop up does not show up for incoming calls. I've double checked all the settings and it's enabled for full screen.
When it rings or calls, or on a call it still goes to my default phone. What's the purpose, little help please if this is a settings thing then I'll give 5 stars.
After upgrading to 7.0 this app is pretty slow. Upon opening the app it will just show the app icon with a blue background for about 10 seconds then let you make calls.
This app does REJECT CALLS set to be Blocked to your Voicemail. If You go Into Your Phone's Call Forwarding settings and Just the line for Forward when busy then click turn off if you can then you wont receive anymore voicemails or ringing of your device by #'s on your devices Internal Reject List or by any 3rd party Call Blocker App you have installed. Blocked # Callers will get 3 rings then a busy signal always when they are blocked and cannot notify you via Call Waiting when Calling you if you are on a incomming call or a outgoing call just straight to the 3 rings then busy. by the way if you are on a incomming call or a outgoing call then someone calls you via call waiting that isnt blocked and you keep the caller on call waiting then anyone no matter what will get the 3 rings then busy signal because there is no way to change this. Only way you iknow a blocked number Tried to reach you is because their # and times tried calling you left in your devices Call Log which is easily deleted. Use Zoner Antivirus As Your Blocker of choice to block people not in your android contact instead of Hello if you want only contacts to contac t you.
This is a joke. I tried my neighborhood public library phone number and it did not find it. I put the number in the Google search box and it showed me the info for that number in the first link
Really good app, it does what it says. Most people nowadays use Facebook so most contacts have a FB profile connected to it. The card is fast to load and gives all the info about the person contacting you.
Nicer than stock Android dialer. Hasn't been updated since August 2015? How about giving it some love...
It doesn't stay synced with my Google contact info, nor does it use the Google groups so I'm not using.
Ok, so I had a scam "you won a free cruise" number I did not answer 2 weeks ago. I verified it was a scammer on the net, so I went to the phone number log and "blocked" it. Got the same scammers spiel today. What do you know? The number matches the blocked phone number that called 2 weeks ago. Can't tell if it is succefully blocking other numbers, but you can tell if it's not blocking.
Seems an overall decent and helpful app, as long as you don't mind Facebook collecting your call history usage. I haven't had any technical issues so far. More syncing options with your Contacts accounts would be nice.
I set this to only show up for people NOT in my phonebook. Instead, it only functions for people already in my phonebook. I've tried all available settings to no avail. Who wants caller ID for people they already know?
The app's kind of okay, but it shows some huge, weird phone numbers for my Facebook contacts, even if they're not sharing any phone info on their profiles. Calls from blocked numbers give a couple of rings and then are silenced, but you still get a notification of the call. Kinda stupid.
It's a decent calling application. I like the Facebook profile sync so you know who's calling you. Though it seems like that feature only actually happens one out of 20 callers. The one improvement I want is to not get notified at all that a blocked number has attempted to called me. It may be brief but it will still interrupt any music that's playing and my Moto360 still buzzes.
I use this to block numbers.I had many people using fake numbers. This a good app thank you it was a big help.
I love this app! If you have a non Nexus phone and want the Google style dialer, this does it. You can search for local business right from the dialer. Pulls all the info from their FB profile too. It's also free, so you got nothing to lose.
Call blocker sucks Facebook has false app's also I see.I had to file a report with Google
I go through phones like the changing seasons so this app has saved my life saving the phone numbers I forgot to or lost
What if you get a text an unwanted number how do you block that you don't have that in your information can you update your somehow help us thank you
I might start using Hello and messenger as my default Dialer and SMS apps but Messenger Needs the SMS Functionality back before I can do that
Muito devagar. Poderia ser maia ágil e menos valorizado o icone do app na tela de abertura.
The caller ID is good but I'm incredibly disappointed in how poorly the "Automatically block calls from numbers that have been blocked by a lot of other people." feature has worked out. I get a fair amount of random calls from numbers that have a ton of reports when you google them but not a single one has been blocked by Hello.
Blocking feature like, block no starting with 114 for example like truecaller, otherwise it's really useful!
The numbers shown are scrambled long numeric strings, and they do not make sense at all
I figured that Facebook probably has one of the largest databases for phone numbers, so why not try it. I am still using the app.
My phone still rings a couple times before the app realizes it needs to block the call
Why does a dialer app need permission for your microphone and camera. The dialer doesn't work unless you give Facebook permission to spy on everything
There are loads of issues with the app. It corrupted all of my phone's data. Adding weird numbers to all my contacts.
Needs to sync with Google contacts/messenger. Creating some issues without that ability.
Every time I create a contact and save and when I go to look them up the contacts are gone. Please fix this issue I like this app.
Check Facebook hello app.. It's really good for incoming calls. It has caller id for businesses or people registered numbered on fb.
I preferred syncing my Facebook/yahoo/and all other sites contacts with the Google contacts app. I can add anniversaries and birthdays to contacts that don't have Facebook. I still had to use the Google contacts app to get other details.
To bad it doesn't block the system apps that this replaces...

Hasn't been updated in almost 2 years so I assume it's basically been abandoned. I set it as the default dialer on my S7 but it isn't recognized and incoming calls use my stock dialer. The search for businesses does work so i'll leave it installed just for that purpose, it's nice if you want to call someone and you're not sure what their number is, just don't be surprised if the caller id doesn't work.
