L'etichettatura apposta sull'uovo, rende così disponibile al consumatore una vera e propria carta di identità dell'uovo, permettendo la tracciabilità del prodotto e di essere informati sulla filiera produttiva. L'etichettatura delle uova destinate ad un consumo diretto, ai sensi del Regolamento CE 2295 del 2003, è obbligatoria e non lasciata alla discrezione del produttore.
