Geography has always played a decisive role in the history of a region. The geographical character and features dominated by the Sahyadri range prevented any real subjugation by alien powers of the Indian subcontinent south of the Tapti river, in the sense that northern India was; the geopolitical influence of these mountain ranges and their rugged and difficult terrain was immense.
Trekking in the Sahyadris has its own charms; it is endowed with numerous delightful routes, both easy and difficult, forts and pinnacles that provide countless avenues to trekkers of all levels. There is the tremendous opportunity to discover the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra, as most of the spots have both cultural and mythological background and famous tales of heroism associated with them. In a trekking outing you come closer to the Mother Nature and experience her bounty in terms of the flora and fauna first hand.
Many youngsters like me were introduced to the art of trekking at a young age. For many of us love for the Sahyadris began gradually and later, developed into a passion for high mountains.

I expected an actual map with the 'map' tab, which kinda surprised me. Pretty much no issues otherwise.

It's best trek app. All the possible routes to the destination are mentioned. It gives one apt information regarding drinking water facility and stay. Also it tells you about the historical importance of a place. Must download !!

Good information has been provided about most of the forts. Just a suggestion, It would be great if some more pics are available for each fort and if you can provide Google map connectivity...

You may add an option for comments for the people who Already have been there, so others get to know about experience. And also try to include more images of the destinations. Pictures communicate more than texts.

सुंदर app आहे..! अशा गोष्टींची सुरुवात होण खुप गरजेचं असतं.. या माध्यमातुन गडकिल्ले अन आपल्या मातीचा उज्वल इतिहास उजेडात येतोय..काळाच्या पडद्याआड जाणाऱ्या गडकोटाना तंत्रज्ञानाच्या माध्यमातुन जतन करण्याचा हा एक सुंदर प्रयत्न पाहुन बरं वाटलं , त्याचप्रमाणे इथे दिलेली सविस्तर माहिती गडकोटांची चाहत्यांना नक्कीच उपयुक्त ठरेल..यामध्ये कालानुरूप सुधारणा या होतीलच ही अपेक्षा..या सुंदर उपक्रमास आणि याच्या निर्मात्यास शुभेच्छा..!!!
