Simple BUT ... All you have do is give the appl permission to access your photos and take video or photos. You then line up your document on a flat surface, try to keep your phone a still and straight as possible they just have to be within the corners NOT in line with. It was very fast. What I didnt like was it takes so much personal and private info and stores this on theirs and HMRCs system (Photo ID) as well as bank details only for the verification still to noy go through and take a further 2 hours, possibly. I Spy much?!

Screen locks up after scanning qr code .hmrc have increased the torture by making me try this.a total. Rip off. the eye of my cock would see things and verify with more success

Complete waste of time. Forced to install as part of Gov. UK. It abends every time on an S7 Edge. The phone and Android version are up to date. This is not old kit it is being run on

Doesn't work with Android despite developer stating camera probs fixed. Looks like it's scanning, ends very quick, no results are sent anywhere and get crash error message.

Wish I had read these comments before trying to load app. I phoned helpline they were no help. Have given all personal details on line they have told me they have closed it but how do I know what a waste of time

Takes the photo but the online check fails every time. Using s7 edge which is one of the best smartphone cameras in existence. Waste of time!

Pointless app. If you're thinking of downloading it for HMRC/Experian Verify...just click you don't have an ipad/tablet and get your M-pin that way

After days of trying to get it to accept my I.D I realized you need to get any holo-foil type parts in focus too so the picture can see what they say otherwise it will always be denied. Did it with provisional license, needed to get the date under the picture in to which isn't always readable from all angles. I.D needs to be within the frame but doesn't have to go to the edge of it as long as all details on it are crisp. Rating the app low since it doesn't tell you any of this when you load it up.

It's crap don't work

Hmrc made me do. it took all morning and I've got no where. Complete waist of time. I phoned experian credit check people they blamed my phone. So if like me it doesn't work make sure they know about it... I hate apps they're all crap.

I see a lot of people had the issue with the camera not working, as I did. So I opened the app myself and on doing so I was asked permissions (can this app take photos and save them), after agreeing to the permissions, I closed the app and continued with my experian verify registration INCLUDING taking a photo of my drivers licence. After tue farce of the camera not working to begin with, the process was easy, quick and now im all verified even when PO couldnt. Cheers, experian.

This app doesnt work at all and i hate HMRC for making me go through this. All i want is my government gateway details and now a load of stupid companies like experian have my most private details. Fork this, fork experian and fork you

Stuck at the instructions screen, with no other way to continue. If you are not able to create a good, working app, then you should start do something else. Like, knitting. Or walking dogs. Or better, shepherds. Your choice.

Taking the picture is really tricky, as the app doesn't tell you why some of the indicators are green and others are red. Basically, it will tell you that something is wrong but not how to fix it. I got it to work eventually by moving my ID card several times, adjusting the external lighting, and doing lots of refocusing. Ultimately, it _is_ usable, but it's frustrating having to go through this process.

How can a perfect photo of my license taken in 4k not be good enough? No wonder the UK government is on its arse when they farm everything out to people who can't even cobble together a simple application with one process! Don't bother using any of the other apps such as post office identify because that's just as bad.

Don't bother with it - as bad as the HMRC system that made you try it. Go for mobile verification instead.
