Night Owl - Screen Dimmer

I occasionally go on my phone after my usual bedtime and I always strain my eyes and so when they strain I sleep, I struggled. With this app I fall asleep easier, I know when to get off and I don't get strained eyes and its overall brilliant, the self activate night owl thing has gotta be best bit, waking up to check phone no one eyeing squinting anymore. Thanks for such a helpful app

This is exactly what I was searching for in this type of app! The only minor issue is that when it autostarts at boot it doesn't check the time. For example, it turns on if I reboot even if its midday and I've set it to dim the screen only at night. And that owl icon is sooo cute :D

Update: Great job devs, app is now responsive and polished, and the new 1x1 widget is nice. Still hoping you will add Tasker integration to make this the ultimate screen filter app. Old review: I like the simplicity and design, but it has some display issues on Xperia Z2 and Widgets are buggy. Also Tasker integration would be a welcome addition.

Clean, intuitive, aesthetic and functional GUI. Very unobtrusive ads on free version. Really cute widget!! On my Sony Z1 the nav buttons are not dimmed, as other reviews mention, but this is only a minor & not uncommon annoyance to me, not enough to lower my rating. 5 stars, thanks

Blue light is stimulating and that is what devices emit. This app filters out that blue light wonderfully and is easily adjusted for more or less filter. It also has a timer. This is great for people who may read on their device before bed. Filtering out the blue light will allow you to get sleepy rather than keeping you alert. So glad I found it!

Dimmer is too dark at its lowest setting. It's great for a dark room but I need something i can use all day. The brightness on the S6 is very bright on its lowest setting and eats up the battery very quickly. The blue light filter doesn't seem to work. I had an app called Flux, or something like that, on my S3. It filtered blue light very effectively

This app worked great when I first got it. Now it will turn itself off while I'm using my phone. It takes awhile to navigate back to the app and then the dim setting isn't set to what I left it at. It's frustrating because this happens at night and it's painful to go from a dim screen to a super bright one. I'm considering uninstalling this app and finding a better one.

App works, but not well. I love the functionality of it but it randomly quits every 10 minutes. I also bought the scheduler but unfortunately it doesn't work. Huge disappointment! Please give me a refund!

App used to work great. Now it shuts off on its own while I'm using my phone and I have to go back to the app to get it to turn back on. Uninstalling and finding a new dimmer

Love love looooove this. I wear glasses and at night even though my phone is set to the lowest brightness it's still bright. Lol. But this app actually helps my eyes at Night because I use my phone all night actually. Thanks Devs.

Just what I needed, after a phone update stopped my screen from dimming. Well made. Thanks :) But! It would be nice if it didn't impact screenshots, I have to turn it off so the picture isn't super dim.

NightOwl handles really greatly, and often saved my eyes in my late night chats

Brilliant, totally useful. The new update's owl is a bit creepy though. Prolly just a scared cat but it looks like something out of a childhood nightmare. Other than that, it's useful is great

Decent app, lowers the brightness and i like the +/- feature on the notification bar, however, it keeps crashing and the brightness I had on the phone suddenly pops back up. Ends up hurting my eyes. Keep having to go back and turn on the app.

Great app with good features. Only thing bothering me is when the app starts automatically it is set to whatever brightness that was used last. It would be nice if there were a setting to choose what brightness it starts on when it turns on automatically.

It works as intended and dims quite a bit, BUT it keeps randomly turning itself back on during the day. At home its not an issue because my house is dark, but if I'm out in the sun I'm screwed because i literally can't see anything on my screen, imcluding this app to turn it back off.

this is an amazing app, i really love it, but i wish it would filter over the sound bar when you are changing the volume. watching videos late at night is great until im blinded by the volume bar. i also wish that the filter wouldn't be on the screenshots you take. :(

Widgets are way too big. There needs to be a 1x1 without a transparent background icon

Latest update ruined the app. Instead of dimming the screen it just reduces blue light.

The app was great, until I updated it and now screen dimmer works only if u open the app but when going out of the app (even when the system is ON) it wont work :( Plz fix it?!

I feel like when I turn it on it drains the battery life extremely fast because I can go hours without recharging my phone when I have it off, but when I turn it on after 20 to 30 minutes my phone warns me that it is in 15%.

It is good but sometimes it does not work. Glitches as it shuts down itself.

This is my go-to app since I came across it. Even better with the new update!!

Update is a backwards step for me. Worked great before the update, now the automatic scheduler doesn't work so have to manually start/stop it each time. Nougat/moto g4 plus

This app is essential, apps like this is the only reason I switched to android, but there is just one hitch, the filter navigation bar option seems to be disfunctioning at the moment, it used to work, but now it stopped, please fix this deserves to be 5 stars not 4

It keeps stopping even if i'm not pressing the stop button. Sometimes, the - and + buttons dont work i loved this app idk now

There is a bug that, its all three widgets don't work. Though very useful app during night

I like this as it can set to very dark.but not stable at my ASUS pad.

terrible all you can do is play around with settings but there is no turn on button so it's fake it doesn't dim you stupid liars

Great app works better than other one I have tried where the top and the bottom of my Galaxy S8 plus screen was still the regular brightness after dimming , just looked odd.

UPDATE: since the update the scheduler does not work.

After update Schedule timer is not working ....app is losing its stable

Can't be moved to external SD card. Why not? I liked it but all these little apps fill up the internal memory when they could be on external. Removed.

Absolutely useful app.. since I'm a Night Owl myself... this app helps me a lot and reduces strain to my eyes !!

Sony Xperia z2 navigation buttons at bottom stay very bright which is very distracting when everything else is dimmed!!

I don't usually write reviews. but this app is super duper perfecttttt for what it offers.

The best features cost money. I have found another dimmer that has the same manual dimming feature as this app, except the other one doesn't have advertisements.

Works very well. However you guys have some ugly widgets.
