EveryDollar: Budgeting for Android
I am just a mad as I can be! I cant get it to connect with my bank account. Tried it several different way online and on my mobile phone. Like everything else. Just mad i cant connect to my bank account.
The one addition that would make the Android version great is to enable the fingerprint sensor to log on like the iOS version has. I'll up my rating to a 5 if that ever happens. Thanks for the help in keeping my family debt free!
Just nothing great about it. The design is really old. It's not simple and intuitive. Kinda surprised that they don't have something better.
I do wish you would add a sinking fund option, it would make this app perfect for me.
Clunky and repetitive.
The bank account info is a day delayed which is annoying. I've found it just as convenient and better just to use my bank app to keep track of my purchases. You don't need to spend 10 bucks a month for this, just use the free part of the app. The app is very helpful though and clean.
It is really slow to update. Somrtimes takes over a week to download transactions. It never shows any in pending either. It also only shows money in funds that were put in that month. I have been putting in $50 into car insurance fund for 3 months now, but it only shows $50 available and when i spend over that month's contribution, it shows that I overspent the category, when there is still money in the fund. This is in the app only. The website handles this correctly. Entering amounts is a pain. I cant edit an amount, or delete the entered amount at once, i have to delete each digit separately, then type each one in again. It makes it hard to add $100 to a category since i cant just replace the digit in the hundreds place. I still cant figure out why it is so expensive to connect to your bank. Somehow Mint found a way to do it for free...
It just refuses to load the page. Just asks for password to sign in then nothing happens. Only had it for a month, was trying to do next months budget. Oh well.
This app is not Dave Ramsey style. It doesn't have a place to designate cash in the budget. This seems to be a budgeting tool for after you spend your money not before. Downloading debit card transactions shouldn't apply to the Dave Ramsey method. Also there is no place for income taxes, Medicare, IRAs, 401ks, etc. These are real expenses too. I have to look at the whole budget to see if we are spending wisely. This is too generic!
Just downloaded. So far i like it. Though I Wish I could figure out how to record beginning balance of emergency fund as everything I've tried hasn't worked.
Clunky; a simple spreadsheet is easier and more useful
Budget on the go and forget about it.
This makes budgeting a breeze!
App is very slow to open. It takes up to a 30 seconds to open on my Galaxy S7 Update 6/26/17: I upgraded my phone to a faster device, app is still very slow to open for some reason.
Great app.
Best ever waited so long for an app like this. Thanks Dave! Get the paid version its worth it. App hasnt updated my bank linked transactions in 2 days. No manual refresh seems to work. Submitted a report hope to be helped soon. Have to uninstall reinstall every time I want to get update on transactions. Hope this is fixed asap.
It's a great free app to show family and friends how to zero base budget. Its simplicity doesn't intimidate the budgeting beginner. Ways to improve EveryDollar: 1. Support multiple currencies and foreign bank accounts. 2. Match manually entered to synced transactions, so there aren't any double entries. 3. Remaining amounts could be easier to see, big obvious green/red bubbles around the Remaining amounts would be so helpful visually. 4. Have the mobile app open up to Remaining instead in Planned. 5. Needs to be functional while not connected to data, then sync once internet is available again. 6. Would be nice to have the budget link to the baby steps as an optional feature. Things I love: 1. Each month is different. If I delete a category, it doesn't effect previous transactions from prior months. 2. Easy to use and get started, plus there are articles in the Help section. 3. Free unlimited categories. YNAB and GoodBudget work fine, but I'll stick to EveryDollar because it offers unlimited categories for free, thank you EveryDollar!!
The inability of remaining finds to roll over from month to month is making me a little crazy. The app is perfect for budgeting an income bet terrible at seeing the big picture of finances. It also fails to keep upnwith my baby step 2.
I love this app! Very easy to use to set your budget at the beginning of the month. Also very easy to track expenses to make sure they align with your budget. Only drawback is I can't get my bank to work in the app. I mean with BBVA COMPASS. Data will not download. Would be five stars if that problem can get fixed.
Revelations about my money like books of the bible!!! App takes a little getting used to just like any other multi level app. The accountability placed on me by ACTUALLY budgeting has shown me how badly I've been neglecting my hard earned money.
This app is over rated and the "subscription" is over priced and quite frankly a rip off. The app has very little design and user friendliness, for an app with a subscription I expected to have a much nicer user experience. Also for the $10 bucks I paid it connected to less then half of my banking needs. Not even AMEX! Are you kidding me? an app like this is useless, it either needs to fully integrate or not integrate at all. There are several unpaid and free to use apps that have a better design and an easier use, I suggested finding one of those.
The app itself is ok, but it is rendered almost useless by the need to keep signing in. My password is rather long and complex, and having to type it out basically every time I open the app is an incredible pain. It should use a token (like oauth) with either a pin or fingerprint to unlock. This is supposed to be a family budgeting tool, but it's a pain enough for me to not use it, much less my wife who never remembers my long passwords. To put this in perspective, I find it easier and more convenient to create the monthly budget on the website and then duplicate it in mint (I still think actually creating a monthly budget is easier in EveryDollar) for app access, rather than use the mobile app for EveryDollar.
The app is pretty good for a free app. I do wish though that it would show the "remaining dollars" on the same screen as the "budgeted dollars". My biggest disappointment though with the paid subscription, is how slow banking transactions take to show up. The only reason for the subscription is so that I can simply drag and drop my transactions. It's been 3 days since Every Dollar has updated my transaction information from Chase. If they can fix this, I may return.
Very confusing and poorly organized app. Multiple overlays on screen make for a difficult entry process. MUCH better budgeting tools out there.
I do not use the subscription service because I am capable of tracking my purchases for myself. Speaking to the functionality so far I think I understand it well enough. My wife and I use a checkbook register already so inputting every purchase is not a big stretch. I know now what is meant by, "If you don't tell your money where to go you'll wonder where it went," and seriously the budget has given us some freedom. This week was the first time when we had to choose between eating out yesterday while we were out rock climbing or eating with family today (fathers day). But knowing that if we ate out yesterday we would have to dip into other budgeted areas stopped us from frivolous spending. I have tried to do paper budgets in the past without success. I appreciate this app. It has already changed our habits for the better. I tried to use other services like Mint but it did too much for me plus the syncing capabilities were sketchy. I didn't feel like I was in control of it. I prefer the manual labor of tracking and being aware of the money flow.
Was a 5 Star, but since they added favorite tab not a fan. I'm paying for the app and should be able to disable the favorites. I have bills grouped with what accounts they are paid from. If you add them to favorites it just duplicates the bill and puts it at the top. If you don't select a favorite, the select favorite tab stays at the top with offer to select favorites and pushes you bills down.
Completely changed the way we look at our income and way easier to use/understand than other budgeting platforms. I use this app several times a day!
This app saved my life!!! Well my financial life. Love Dave Ramsey, but the fact That everything was on paper drove me crazy. This app is perfect!!
I really think that this app has changed my life. I am an artist. My life is my business. I am now able to be more efficient with every dollar I spend.
It's pretty confusing to figure out how to put in and save information that needs to be saved.
Such a blessing; this keeps u and ur spouse accountable and keeps you looking ahead!
Cant even select whether an input is a planned or completed transaxtion what is the damned point
They charge you to connect to your bank account. $99 per year. Mint does this for free.
Great app for budgeting. Such a shame it doesn't work without data
I'm amazed how much I save when I use this app every month!
Have to create an account for a budget planner. No thanks
This alp is very confusing
I was charged after cancelling
Couldn't get it to link account

While it's gotten us very focused on giving every dollar a name, it doesn't handle carry over for quarterly expenses. Also very cumbersome when you are doing extra payments on things through BS2 to balance it back out again.
