התחנה הוקמה בשנת 2003 וזאת על מנת לקדם את הז'אנר המזרחי ים תיכוני בישראל
במהלך השנים גדלה התחנה והפכה לתחנת המוזיקה המשפיעה בז'אנר
עשרות זמרים התפתחו ועברו ברדיו ועשרות שדרנים גדלו בבית של המוזיקה המזרחית.
ברדיו נושמים מזרחית ניתן להאזין לתוכניות רדיו מגוונות ועם צוות שדרנים
אשר משדר אליכם תוכניות פנאי ובידור, תוכנית עדות,
מוזיקה ים תיכונית מודרנית ונוסטלגית, תוכניות ד"שים ובקשות שירים.
