I found that although the app was well laid out and easy to use, it lacks about 75% of the products and services found on the ETRADE website. I recommend that you use the Mobile app made for the phone. I STRONGLY URGE ETRADE TO FINISH THEIR WORK ON THE TABLET VERSION, as I can see how incredible it could be if done right.
Trying to set alerts drove me insane! Keeps setting the wrong price. No way am I going to trust putting in orders.
Very slow very laggy performance.
No option spreads?
Is not optimized for tablets. The letters look like size 4, there is plenty of unused space in the screen. Very hard to read and use
After clicking on "show more" button in options chain all option prices are zeroes. Sometimes stock price in options chain window is also zero. Navigation is broken. Back button doesn't work, etc.
Left E Trade
Still can't consistently read analysis reports. The home screen is a jumble of info that fails to refresh properly (did a five year old create the layout).
I would rather use the phone version than this app supposedly optimized for tablets. Confusing and provides incorrect account info.
Scrolling the watchlist has the attendances to open chart on symbols. Need to fix where the arrow does that beside the symbol just not anywhere on the line
I can't find the bill pay on the tablet version.. Maybe does not exist?
I like the way the news feeds show up, and no bugs yet, but no stock screener on tablet? Why? It works OK, but I'm far from impressed with it.
Especially scrolling. Terrible. Even browser is much more responsive.
Not near as good as phone app. Where is the stock screener??! News does not load , etrade is bad about posting news anyway. Phone app has more features. Poor design on tablet.
The not even responsive website is better than this app.
Why doesn't the tablet version have a widget like the phone version? And like others have said, please make the back button just undo the last action instead of exiting.
Note 10.1 2014 Edition. Scrolling is broken rotating device is broken. Horrible performance learn to make a app!!
On a Nexus 7, the app is painfully slow, the controls are tiny, it's very hard to get the password field to cooperate when entering the code for 2-factor authentication. No quit button that I could find (the Android back button does not close the app either).
Very Old design. So slow that it hurts
Slow on the Nexus 7 2013. Also really dated looking.
Works, but looks terrible and can't find tax documents
Slow, ugly, don't enjoy using it.
Doesn't scale correctly to display. Can't see anything as a result.
This app would be more useful if it had complex options orders available. I still have to login to the website to do spreads and such, which is inconvenient on a phone or smaller tablet. Charts need candlesticks and a few technicals would be great too. One more thing that I don't think I'll ever get used to is that using the tablets "back" button exits the app and logs you out. I habitually use the back button, but in this app I am often met with an unfortunate surprise.
Crap. It's 2014 and android still says the good old not optimized for this device. I miss my iPad haha
Every time I open this app, it always says that Tablet.Etrade is not optimized for this device. I believe that the Tab S is a tablet and I believe that I downloaded the Etrade for tablets app. It wont let me add external accounts. Why won't it work on MY TABLET? WHAT GIVES?
I need a magnifying glass to make anything out on the display. There's no scrolling in the detail panel making it impossible to see my assets. What is this???
Design doesn't feel made for tablets
Not a fan of tablet app. Mobile app does seem to have more stars then tablet app.
Running the Tablet version of this app on my TABLET, the screen keeps displaying an error stating "this app is not optimized for Tablets". Using the mobile app instead, much easier to work with
App font is too small and cannot be made larger. Makes app rather useless if I can't read it.
Use regularly to watch investments
Why doesn't the tablet version have a widget like the phone version? And like others have said, please make the back button just undo the last action instead of exiting.
Why do you have the back button programmed to exit the app? It's so annoying to always have to sign in again. The back button should close any modal/window and take you back to the previous screen, not close out the app! Even the phone version of the same app does this (takes you back). Why dumb down the tablet version? UPDATE: still not fixed.
Thanks for making a tablet version
App has a good dual-column view and great functionality. My only real complaint is the smaller font size that can't be adjusted up for smaller screened tabs. Using a Nexus 7, its something to get used to, but not a deal breaker. Add a little more UI customization and it's easily a 5 star app.
I'm still seeing terrible performance after the 1.6 update, although there do seem to be marginal speed improvements. There is a 1-2 second delay in response on tapping almost any interface element. My advice is to avoid this app and simply use the desktop website on your tablet. E-Trade is a great company, but their support for Android tablets is simply abysmal.
Extremely sluggish on my nexus 10. I end up using my phone instead of my tablet. Android app runs fine on my phone.
Unfortunately, then app is unusable without being able to see account data.

Runs extremely choppy on my Nexus 7 (2013). E-Trade is a great company, but their support for Android tablets is simply embarrassing.
