DriveSense mobile by Esurance

Tried numerous times to get this to work on my phone. Every time I try to activate my phone, I get an error message stating I'm switching phones. Then I get another message stating unable to process at this time. Wife has the same phone and it works perfectly for her. Tried calling the company for 1 1/2 weeks now only to be told the IT department is looking into it. Try uninstalling and reinstalling is the answer I get from them. I guess you get what you pay for.

So far hasn't logged any of my driving. Been out last 3 days since using this app and not 1x has it been logged. I know I been in my car like 6x. I turned off standby mode

I can't use it! My husband and sister both use it, without problems. When I download and attempt setting it up it tells me I have to uninstall it on my other device, even when I first tried installing it before and one else on my plan had it. WTF? Now I lose a discount because the stupid thing doesn't work..? How is that fair? I've been asking Esurance for help, but they haven't done anything, everything they tell me to do I've already tried, repeatedly. Ugh!!!

I have to uninstall and then reinstall the app all the time to keep it actually working. I sell cars so I'm on test drives all the time with people who don't know how to drive. My app will refuse to open for me to be able to edit the trips so I don't get counted against for their poor driving habits. I've called customer service and told them about it. They said they would get back to me within 3 days. This is over a month later and I've never heard back. All in all I think I'd rather just pay the total amount of insurance than possibly pay more because they can't figure out how to make an app work correctly.

There's an obvious reason why this app has a 1 star rating and it seems to me that Esurance could careless because it actually saves the consumer a few dollars. There are NUMEROUS reviews from people experiencing the same issue I am (app crashing/non functional) no its not the devices fault the app is just poorly made and maintained. Fix the damned thing already! Its not fair that we lose our discount because of your negligence and lack of care to provide a product that actually works.. Definitely will be shopping for insurance somewhere else when my policy expires

App does not fully load for me to delete trips when I am not driving. After 3 minutes of loading app will crash.

Crashes, does not open correctly.

I don't think a few of the people who are giving it a one star are understanding how this service works but you'll get a bigger discount the better you drive and you degrade that discount everytime the app notifies you that you did something wrong. So if it does beep alot it's either for speeding (80mph) or if you break hard(dropping 8mph within 3 seconds) [btw this is a stupid one most people when they break they drop more than 8mph they should have set it at 15mph makes more sense in my opinion] other than that like everyone else said it's easy to use its been tracking every trip I take even if it's just down the road. My only issue is it keeps saying my device memory/storage is low all the time (seems to be the ram) Ohh and I guess also how badly it drains my battery, other than that it's not bad I'll give it a better rating when they fix those issues. Update: well the memory issue has been fixed, I personally haven't had any issues with the app crashing or anything. But it does say I'll be speeding when I'm going 70 or 75 (80mph being speeding) or that I'm breaking to hard when I'm sitting at a light for while it'll randomly do the sound and give a notification of braking too fast

Though the app is well designed and easy to navigate, the whole function of it doesn't work (so far - perhaps it will later). I've had the app installed and I've been signed in for about three weeks and it hasnt recorded any drives yet. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I can't figure it out and there aren't any instructions on what I should do to fix it.

App constantly freezes. I would like to be able to add labels to trips for personal reference. I'm also curious as to why driving in the afternoon is considered a risk factor. Also, the app constantly runs in the background, draining battery unless you force stop it. Let's see if there is any response to this review.

The app is pretty easy to use, you just install it and drive. Only problem is that after awhile it starts to freeze upon opening the app. I can't see my progress or anything because it freezes while loading so I have to uninstall it. I may install it again in the future.

Taking more than 3 mins to open the app. It is becoming pain if I want to open the app and do changes in the settings or view trip details. I get low memory error even on my new phone which has got 64GB space with 4GB ram. You guys will have to improve the performance else this app will be dead soon. Also, I read the response for each and very review. It funny to see similar reply for everyone. People are mentioning about the problems they are facing and still you guys need an email? That's frustrating

It freezes every time I try to get into it. It has told me I've logged 50 trips about 5 times but when (if) I can finally get through the number is never the same. It completely drains my battery at least twice a day. There are tons of apps that work well, why is this one so different?

I will keep this app if it will save me money but wow it is annoying. Keep getting a low memory notification and I get the same driving tip after every trip. I only have to read the tip once to understand it but there is nothing I can do to change what I am doing wrong. The app says there is risk any time I drive after 12 pm. Well, my lunch break doesnt start til 12 and I dont get off work til 5. So I will never be an excelling driver because the only time I drive before noon is my morning commute to work.

Speed limit in Utah and Idaho is 80 mph, if driving and someone cut you off don't break just hit them or you will get risk points for hard breaking, at night when roads are empty it's risk to drive because you can wake up neighbors. If you work mornings than drive to work and make sure you get off work before noon or you will be driving in high risk time or just take a bus, or walk back home. This Ap is NONSENSE. ONLY RETARDED AND RETIRED PEOPLE WILL GET GREAT POINTS.

I've tried to login since last night and it won't let me. How am I supposed to activate it if I can't even login? My phone is compatible...wow! How can I receive my discount if the app doesn't work?! Please fix!!

It is now functioning on my phone, however it is a resource hog. Perhaps modifying the app so that it stupid all of its collected data to esurance servers instead of saving it to our phones would relieve some of the memory it uses up. We have also not been able to very it to function on my wife's phone.

Constantly complains about not having enough memory when over half of both my internal storage and sd card are unused. The metrics used for determining safe driving are plain stupid and not at all indicative of safe driving. Covers up Google Maps when trying to navigate somewhere with its stupid driving screen. I mean, wtf, seriously?

It doesn't track my whole trip and then it's constantly staying that it's running especially when your battery is low then it decides to say they can't track the rest of my trip because my battery is low and I have never once been driving when that's happened more often than not it won't even start when I am driving I have uninstalled reinstalled I've done everything I can think

I really hate this app. I downloaded it to receive a discount and Im about to give up on it and just pay the extra money. It gives me tips while Im driving that are completely obnoxious. Like sorry driving between the hours of 10 and 4 dont fit my busy lifestyle. Also, the whole breaking sensitivity is really ignorant. Would you rathar I just slam into the car in front of me? Or do you like it better when I stop? If you are rating me as even moderately risky, I may decide next premium to take my business elsewhere! I have a squeaky clean driving record. Know why? Because I keep my eyes open and pay attention and obey traffic laws. Seriously enough with the driving tips. THEY ARE DISTRACTING. Also this app drains my battery. NEVER AGAIN

It's easy to navigate but is frustrating. I'm not sure why but it keeps saying that it cannot save my drives because there isnt enough room on my phone's storage. Why should that matter? I don't want this app to take up space on my device other than the actual app. Also, I'm very annoyed and tired of the exact same 3 or 4 safety tips being repeated over and over every day. My overall risk is very low but it still sends me the same tips over and over. Plus, one tip, about risk being lower from 4am to late morning, doesn't make sense. Most people driving at 4am are going to be tired and it's dark out. Can there please be a way to turn off the recycling tips? Also, now it's freezing every time I open the app. It's really frustrating. I don't want to delete the app but don't want this nonsense either.

Fix your app! It freezes. It locks up the phone. It uses too much memory. I expect my discount without using the app until all this is fixed. You are averaging 1.5. Doesn't that tell you it needs fixed and tested? C'mon, man!

Doesn't track properly.Randomly stopped working&wouldn't let me back on.Discount removed because the app wasn't working.Went through hassle of back&forth support messages to get the discount back on my account.Had to uninstall&reinstall app to be able to log back on so I lost all the data I had logged. Now I get another email saying I haven't activated the app.I have been using it,it's been activated! I'm starting to feel like this is a scam. Advertise a discount you'll never get cause the app doesn't work.

Terrible app will not open to view any info at all. Wish they could fix it to where at least I can view info it's "recording". Hope you guys fix it.

This app does not always record your trips. It frequently says there is not enough data on my phone to record the trip and to erase data. Having in excess of more than 8 gb of data is surely enough to save/record trips. Needs major improvement, especially if this is the way customers save $$ on their premiums.

I can not delete the trips that I wasn't driving. It does not allow me to see the trips that I've made and does not respond most the time

This app kills my battery and it uses a ton of memory and it's always ding and giving me notifications and I also wish that we would be able to turn this application on manually versus having to have it as the running application constantly on my phone

Haven't been able to open it for over a month. Just a solid black screen. Stop being cheap and just use snapshot devices like progressive.

This is the worst app! It drains the battery in just a few hours, it's supposed to allow me to State when I'm not driving however it won't even let me do that
