ES File Explorer/Manager PRO for Android
I like this app, but needs some refinement: 1. i hate that I have to manage the windows myself everytime I hit 10 windows. Can I get the option to open one window at a time, with the latest window always overwriting the last? 2. This app needs a nicer tile icon for Android TV, and needs to be able to be found from the android tv play store 3. The upload speed (device to smb server) on a smb file copy is considerably slower than its download speed (smb server to device)
Love the app, aside from the fact that it endlessly harasses me to rate it. I paid for it. I should be able to use it without the nuisance. Well, now I've rated it. Hopefully it will leave me alone. Update: Leaving a review does not stop the begging for five star reviews. That may be because I left a 3 star review instead of 5.
Without root this is really an outstanding app. I'm absolutely into running maintenance on my devices and looking for media apps that that do more than just play a handful of formats but most of them with only trying to make it work for that one thing and most of the time still won't get it right. This app here hands down snatches the trophy out of anyone's hands. Good job guys.
Finally giving up on ES and switching to mixplorer. Certain things in ES have never worked right, cloud sync. And though I really like the UI, the constant connecting to IP assesses in China, even while I'm not doing anything in the app, are a BIG NO!
Does most of what I need. Features description said that Archive Manager can open zip and 7z files. Paid for pro version to get rid of ads. Installed the app and there is no Archive Manager so now I need to get another app to take care of compressed files. Pro version does not even show up on their website so that was no help. I guess the moral of the story is don't believe everything you are promised.
Loved the free version & don't begrudge paying for the Pro. Slick file exploring, operations & great cloud support (eg Dropbox). Would struggle without this app & it's by far the slickest file manager on Android I've found thus far.
Useless, don't buy... Finally after many months later, after the free version had Dropbox connection update, these plebs finally fixed it for the paying pro version to work normally again... Better device managers out there... Hit up Solid Explorer
I didn't even bother to read what the paid version had to offer. Just wanted to support you guys for the awesome work. EDIT: Okay! Maybe I overestimated ES a bit too much. Lost a folder that had over 100 pictures while trying to move it. Dafuq? Totally disappointed. To top it all, they're updating the free version, but not this one which all of us have paid for. So pissed. EDIT: ES pushes an update for the pro app every 6 months or so when they keep the regular version updated all the time.
Hands down the best File Explorer. You know you have a good one when you don't bother to look for another File Explorer. Can you say satisfied. Super clean layout and the functionality is phenomenal. I have no cons with this app, just pros. The only thing I wish they would do with this app is bring the color-coded text(colored feedback) and format from the non Pro edition of ES Text Editor to this Pro Version of the ES Text Editor. The old fashion black letters and white background is so dull and plain. That would be perfect for me being that I manually input changes to my system often. It's a very helpful tool.
Is it possible to develop automatic encryption function? Something like that, after closing encrypted file, system will encrypt file automatically again with previous used password. It's very annoying to encrypt it manually after every use of file.
On my Note 5 it causes problems with text messages, sending fails frequently and needs to be retried several times. This never happened before installing es file explorer/manager. On both the note and tablet i have been unable to disable unwanted features. I don't want es file manager taking control of battery charging. I dont want es file manager to put up an alternate main screen with apps arainged in a circle around a lower corner of the screen (with a half screen ad in the top of the PAID version screen) . There may be controls to disable these features but i have not found the controls and have spent too much time looking. With a file manager i want it to run when when i start it and STOP completely when i exit. I do not want any background activity at all.
The app is not showing the folder "Android" even in the Hidden folders. It is very difficult to extract attachments within the Yahoo folder with Android folder. Please correct the same at the earliest. And I am not sure if the Save As.. functionality is corrected completely. Please do respond. Thanks.
Been using the free version for awhile and thought it was time to upgrade show my support. This app is awesome I can connect to my windows PC via smb share, cast videos to chrome cast , this app does it all. Es file explorer has went to hell and Solid is now the only File manager anyone's ever needs.
Love the app, but need to update ASAP to bring back support for Dropbox. Free version has already been updated, so where's the update for the paying customers? Dropbox sent out emails on 8/10/2017 notifying everyone of the change, that was 50 days ago and we should have received an updated app long before the change went live. I'll update my rating once I can get back into Dropbox. Edit 11/1/2017: Over a month since my first review and still no solution to the Dropbox problem. Taking away a star since there's been no response from the company. Edit 11/10/2017: Dropbox issues have been resolved with the latest update. Now rating at 4 stars, would have given 5 stars of if it had been fixed in a timely manner. Free version was fixed before the paid version.
For the life of me I can't figure out why the paid for version lacks some of the functionality (e.g ability to analyse storage) of the free version. Bizarre. In addition, this functionality difference means I have to switch between the two and that's the other annoying feature, the look and feel of the interfaces are different. To make matters worse, they've changed the interface (again!). Years ago this says a good product.
I'm extremely glad you took care of the Dropbox report I (and perhaps others) submitted. Now that this fix has been done, I can safely claim that ES File Explorer is one of the most flawless, efficient and feature-rich apps I've ever used since being an Android user. It provides so much - including most common network protocols' support, like FTP, SFTP, FTPS and valuable network features, root exploring and applications management, multimedia support and refined file viewing - in a consistent and nice-looking user interface. I am a satisfied user and will most likely report further bugs and inconsistencies I will personally encounter.
At first this app was a bit difficult to use efficiently. After learning how to use it you will be able to do everything you need to. It is a great app! This app lets you explore your device in detail. You can use it to install or uninstall nearly any file, cache or app as well. A 5 Star App!!!
Best and intuitive file manager. Like a lot network LAN connection. Saved me trouble of getting my project files and presentation versus using USB stick and finding PC in client office. So many great features. Just great.
I like this thing. Beats the hell out of the default file manager! You can see so much more. Wish I could root my phone so I could find out where ALL the garbage is on my phone.
I still love this app. I've used this app for a long time. It has helped me organize things, find the crazy places apps send downloads and let's me get to the cloud as well. So worth the small cost for ad-free and other upgrades. Helps me move files to the cloud w/o opening apps.
Bug "Sender disconnected" error when sending files from Android 6 to Android 7, both using ES File Explorer PRO. The reverse sending direction is fine. Works OK on the free version. BUT I didn't pay for the Pro to use the free version. Please fix it. EDIT: User Disconnected bug still present.
The number of features it has is just spectacular! The free ad-version was getting worse but I'm okay with paying a little bit for this treasure. Thanks for supporting Dropbox API V2!
Still strangely popular despite the fact that it does not support Dropbox and the developer has been history for close to a year. Waste of data to download.
One of the first three or four apps I have to install whenever I get a new device or have to reset an old one. Glad to see the Dropbox bug fixed.
I've been having issues with moving data from the phone to the SD card. The header shows up, just no data transfer. Lost some bids and photos. Kinda concerned. Used to be sooooo reliable
Excluding the prompt to review the app its a lean mean editing/casting/streaming machine. And to be fair, if they dont get the review's they wouldnt get it out in't world. Peace n love im out
Simply the best, most versatile file manager for Android. The only one that works with networked files as easily as local files. My only complaint is that you have to turn off a few features to make it friendly at first.
Great overall_does exactly what I need. Only criticism I have (was also pointed out by other reviewers) is that there's no way to delete the "free" version without also deleting the "Pro" version.
Nov. 11, 2017: Developer finally fixed problem with Dropbox, took almost 2 months thus 4 stars. . Oct. 2017: changing from 5 to 1 star to raise developer attention. Dropbox integration does not work anymore and there is no update from developer. . Sep. 2016: Got tired of Root Explorer that seems to be unable to paste file from clipboard to empty folder so started looking for alternatived. Found Total Commander and ES Explorer and that's what I use.
Great program BUT since I purchased the Pro version . . why am I still getting advertising?????? Unlocks requiring to add dumb games??????? Charge me another 5 bucks ,,, BUT STOP the darn advertising and stupid kids games
Works great, I've been relying on this app for years to access my cloud/server files. One recent issue though, since the 11/9/17 update AWS S3 access stopped working for some regions. I get "not found" when retrieving listing in those locations.
Really disappointed that even in the pro version, local network FTP or even finding a NAS can never connect. UPDATE over a year and a half later with no fixes to that... Also, disappointed that the free version is getting so much attention (albeit to shove ads everywhere), while those of us that have paid for pro are left with an abandoned product.
Seems to be a problem when editing Dropbox text files - changes are not saved to the Dropbox file. Also, still cannot transfer files from Android 4.4.4 to 7.1.2. Works in the opposite direction. Otherwise a good app.
Love this app. However where is the pie menu that pops up in the free version and you can select what program to open. I can't seem to find the option on this?..
Solid Explorer full version is ₹20.... And ES explorer is ₹190...!! Both have exact same features and Solid Explorer have much much better UI. In short, just buy Solid Explorer for ₹20! Moreover, Free version of ES have much better UI and update schedule them pro version! Free version gets weekly update and pro get single update every 4-5 months!
I think there is no better. Having it in your phone in pro version, you don't need any other. ( AdAway will help you have no ads)
This app is always connected to Internet and uses background data even though I'm not doing anything that requires Internet connection. Why is it using my data?..
ES File Explorer is so useful that I decided to purchase this ad free version. To my despair I soon found out this so called Pro version actually lags behind the ad supported version in features. For instance, it doesn't support SMB2/3. It's still a good app. I just wish the developer updates it frequently to match the ad supported version. UPDATE: My sincere thanks to the developer for adding SMB2 connection support which is crucial due to the ending of SMB1 on Windows 10. UPDATE 2: While SMB2 support works in most cases, it fails when the server has RequireSecuritySignature (e.g. domain server) turned on. Next release, maybe? UPDATE 3: After 2017-11-3 update, it lost the ability connecting to SMB2/3 server. Why? UPDATE 4: Yeah! SMB2 support is back with 2017-11-9 update.
I have used the free version for years on my Kindle. When I got an Android tablet I splurged and got the pay version. I have not been disappointed with it and love the extra features. Highly recommend it! Very easy to use.

Hello, I found pro version unable to load Dropbox auth page on connect attempt. It's not a problem for the non-pro version. Can you fix so I can upgrade? Love the app otherwise. ..Update: Thank you! You fixed this issue in the latest update. Very much appreciated!!!
