Vaandelroute

Op 13 mei 1886 werd de 3 October Vereeniging opgericht. Ter gelegenheid van het 125-jarig bestaan van de vereniging in 2011 is een vaandelroute door de stad (en iets daarbuiten) uitgezet. Op 51 plaatsen zijn tegels met het vaandel van de 3 October Vereeniging geplaatst. Elke tegel markeert een plek. Als u de tegels volgt komt u niet alleen van alles te weten over het Beleg en Ontzet van Leiden in 1574, maar ook over de herdenking en de viering van het ontzet in de eeuwen daarna.
