Westminster Abbey–Official App for Android
Needs ability to listen while screen is off. Also crashes repeatedly when trying to enter numbers on keypad.
Was not allowed to use my phone in the Abbey. They don't want people taking photos. Renders the app essentially worthless. Might as well remove it from the play store if people can't use it for its intended purpose.
Playback stops whenever screen turns off, if you change app, or, God forbid, try to use the map within the app. Awful.

This app is infuriating. While beautifully recorded and delivered by Jeremy Irons, the app requires your screen to be constantly on otherwise the audio pauses. As the permissions don't allow the app to keep the screen awake you have to repeatedly wake the phone up and restart the audio. Very annoying! This could have been fixed by the developer before putting it out to the public.

Unlike as reported in another posted review, I never had to "awaken" my phone and restart the app. Perhaps it was an IPhone? I have an Android. Or perhaps the reviewer didn't know how to change his/her settings. We felt that this was a terrific alternative to the handheld devises that you rent. Depending upon the quality of your headphones or earbuds, the quality is terrific and you can turn up the musical portions to really get the full experience.
