ESPN Companion for Gear

It has great potential but I dont get why I have to open the app on my phone almost every time I want to see my favorite teams scores. The scores are also never updated on time and sometimes it takes up to around 5 or 6 minutes to update and it is very unreasonable.

Stay connected ffs! What's the point of having a Gear app if I have take out my f-ing phone to check scores? Poorly thought out. Too bad. Good in concept.

I get upcoming game time, current score & time left. My reg app gives me updates of scores but not the other. HOWEVER, each time I open it, app says I need to login or create an acct! Annoying, & it opens ESPN gear setup on phone. I can ignore msg & it continues okay, except for opening setup. I need time to explore it more. ;)

Scores not updated, disconnects constantly. The score thing really pisses me off I was excited to get real time scores on my watch but games over and my watch is still in the 8th inning, real disappointed

Just wished it worked better and let you choose the scores you wanted to look at. Only shows your favorite teams scores and not all games going on. Would be much better if it was like ESPN bottom line and scrolled through the entire sports world

I like the watch face, and that it shows the scores of certain games going on. Although, I'd like to be able to change which game is on the watch face. The NCAA national championship game is on right now, and it's stuck showing the score of the bulls-thunder game. I could care less about that match.

Was excited about the espn app for my gear s2 untill i downloaded this. It is constantly disconnecting and requiring sign in over and over. So much potential but it is a nightmare.

I like the app, but it doesn't work all the time. Keep getting prompted to "Sign in to ESPN: companion app. Be careful on the favorites you select. IF multiple games are on the same time, it picks which one to show. Would be nice to alternate between current games on. Guess it is a work in progress.

App is installed on phone. I'm signed in. App on watch does NOTHING. By reading the previous reviews, the developers do not pay attention.

Good concept but always disconnects from gear s3. Please fix and update app, rather useless of I have to go to my phone to reconnect every time I wanna check scores

Needs lots of work. Disconnects all the time. No cfl. Only shows favorites instead of being able to look up all scores of games going on.

Recently got the Samsung S2 watch and it continuously loses connection between the watch and my phone. Kinda aggravating to have to repeatedly retry to connect.

Terrible app. It always says I have to download the manager app, which I do have downloaded. They really need to fix it. It could be good with an update. Until the fix the app is not worth downloading.

No problems using a S2 w/ Note 7. One suggestion for any user, pick multiple teams in addition to your favorite teams. That will allow you to view multiple game scores. Still needs some work but I like the app.

I like it for my SmartWatch but it does disconnect has you try and try to reregister you need to fix that because I do like to see the soccer scores or my football scores without looking it up. If you can fix it I'll redo it but if not I think I'll take it off it's a irritating thing one stuff disconnecting after we signed in and resign in please fix

Reiterating many reviews which pointed out the annoying loss of login information. When bringing up the gear app, I need to take out the phone and reconnect with the ESPN app. Defeats the point of having the gear app on my wrist when I have to bring up the phone app first. Might as well get the scores on my phone when I bring it out. Otherwise, I like most of the features. I would like to view all league scores like NHL instead of selecting individual teams.

I'd love to use it to check scores without getting my phone out, but every time you try to look at a score, you get a, "connect to ESPN" prompt and have to pull out your phone to connect. At that point it's easier and more informative to just check on the phone. It 100% defeats the purpose.

My Gear S2 wont work without this app being installed, Every time I go to the home screen, I get the message Sing in to ESPN with an Open App Button, I have no interest in ESPN, Never have, and Never Will!! I just got the phone, was all excited, and now just extremely frustrated that I cant use my device!

UPDATE FROM EARLIER RATING. NOW NOT WORKING AT ALL. Says it can't find companion app even though it is installed. WTF NEED TO FIX DISCONNECT ISSUE. The best part of this app it to check scores or schedules without having to get out my phone, however it disconnects far to much needing me to get out my phone and reconnect.

the app is horrible.. disconnects all the time. cant see all scores. should be real time. why should I have 2 apps just to connect onto my watch? could be another way right? hope they can update it where I can check the score while on the job, lol.

Galaxy S5. My bluetooth is connected. Everything else on my watch works via bluetooth. This app has never done anything but say network error on my watch face. The app says connect my bluetooth that's already connected. I've tried all kinds of things to get it to work. This app is garbage

I have been trying to get this app to work on my Samsung Saturday Gear2 for 2 days now and it will not work. It keeps telling me there is a connectivity issue. I did everything I was suppose to, even signing in to the ESPN app for my phone.

Waiting for the update that let's me prioritize what game shows on watch. My Bengals are playing but I'm stuck on the Ohio state final match! Also don't need 2 apps to install! Way to much of a process!

Pretty disappointed with functionality. Figured it would update in real time like most apps, but my baseball score of a currently playing game isn't updating... not impressed. Fix this and I will update my review to a 5 star.

Nice app but there should be a way not to need to open app on phone all the time. It defeats the purpose of having it connected to my watch...

Great thought, but the app never connects when it is first opened and typically takes several tries. I frequently give up and look at the app on my phone. Defeats the purpose.

The doesn't seem to work properly. It shows things on the watch that are not set up to show up and those that are identified on the Companion to show on the watch do not show up on the watch. I have cleared all data from the app, uninstalled the Companion app, turned off the phone, turned the phone back on, reinstalled the Gear Companion and the same thing happens.

Would be rated higher if I could set which game displays on watch face. Spent the whole day yesterday with the final score of ravens game on watch face. Seems silly that this basic function wasn't in the release.

Endless loop of app is missing, setup required on the gear. Yet the app says I'm successfully logged in. Was excited to try and no dice!

This app is the worst. Always disconnected or network failure. When it does work does not show real time scores. Try and bring up my other teams rarely will let you in. Deleting this app until they get the bugs worked out.

Won't even load. Stays at loading screen and forces me to power down just to get out of it.

When it does work it's great, but.....usually all I see is the time, no scores. Very disappointed

I updated my favorite teams. Then it just keeps going to the same page again.

Could anyone tell me how to put the game scores on the watch face. I cant find any way to do it and all I can get the on the watch face is the black screen with the digital clock and the espn logo

Every time you go to look at the time it disconnects and you need to refresh/retry loading, very annoying

Shows only one game on watch face. Want to scroll through my favorite teams on my S2 vs getting hammered with notifications.

Very laggy for updating scored and it would be nice to see multiple scores. Even if you go into the app and not the watch face being able to see all games would be nice.

Stays disconnected more than its connected. It worked fine until it updated.

Nearly every time I go to look at scores on my gear s2 classic it says i need to download the manager app (I have it downloaded), I hit ok and it says I need to set it up (I have set it up), then it shows an error message, I hit the refresh icon on the watch and the whole process repeats until I turn my phone screen on (the point of having an app on my gear is so I don't need to look at my phone).
