About ESP8266 UDP Commander
When this application starts it sends a UDP broadcast message on the local network, with the key of the ESP8266 device it is looking for. The ESP8266 with the matching key will then respond, and the Android device will store its ip address. Subsequent communication will then be directly from the Android device to the ESP8266 and back.
This application (for test purposes only) will send a command when its associated button is pressed: cmd1, cmd2, or cmd3. The ESP8266 will send back an "ACK" for each of these commands. If the Android device does not receive an Ack it will resend until the ACK is received.
Source code for an example ESP8266 device running on an arduino Mega is found here: https://github.com/Paulware/ESP8266/tree/master/ESP8266UDP Source code for this app is also located there.
