ESET Stagefright Detector for Android
If ESETs Sirefef removal tool could easily detect and remove that infection, then this tool should do the same even though its for an Android device. As it is, the fact that this does nothing makes it suck. They give a link to press in case it finds the vulnerability, in which case it goes to a web page that gndn ( goes nowhere, does nothing)
Simple and fast.
on detecting.
Love it
Does its job
Good

Kisssss
What can I say I hope its true
A bit diappointing because it doesn't protect against that bug, just signal if it is present or not. It is to the phone producer to make a new rom than will protect your phone and Samsung doesn't care (I have a Samsung note 3)
There is lots of garbage on Google play..
Big fan of ESET and use their security software, this is great if you want to find out if your device is vulnerable but it would be nice to know which version of stagefright your device is vulnerable. Hope that this will come in future updates.
Nice tool, as expected from Eset. It does what it says.
I already had auto retrieve disabled but it still says I'm vulnerable.
after a software/system update, It now shows invulnerable to stagefright. Thanks eset for this tool.
So who knows what's talk and what's not
Says my phone is vulnerable to stagefreight, but doesn't tell me which version of stagefreight it is vulnerable for so I can contact and report this to my phone manufacture for patching.
But no love for other custom (known patched) ROMs
I'm not at risk as I have had an update today but this app says I am
Sort it t out ESET!
Stagefright detecters by zimperium and lookout says device is OK after 10/9/2015 ota (build No LMY48M). But Eset says I'm still vulnerable.
Bad results. Zimperium and lookout say not vulnerable. This app says vulnerable but doesn't list which CVEs or why. Useless if it's only checking Android OS version. Many custom ROMs are out there and are patched.
It says i'm vulnerable.. what to do now?
I gave a generous 3 stars because I don't know if app worked as designed on my Samsung Galaxy S6. It just says device is vulnerable and gives user guide list how to fix in settings. But it does not state whether it performed the actual scan or the result.
Why does this not detect correctly
Doesn't do anything. Only let's you know if you need a patch to fix security issues. If you do it provides you with a link that takes you to a page that does nothing and offers no help or suggestions on how to fix it.
It really needs to be updated to detect the latest stagefright flaws that have been found
Nefunguje uplne tak ako ma. Nasiel mi jeden problem s automatickym prevziavanim MMS. Podla navodu na internete som tuto funkciu vypol vo vsetkych aplikaciach ktore dokazu prijimat MMS ale ESET Stagefright mi stale hlasil iba teto problem. Kdezto pri konkurencnych aplikaciach napr. zAnti mi nehlasilo potom uz nic.
All other app says it is safe device. Except this app
Fast and great help offered.
The app uses a smart way how to check whether the vulnerability has or has not been really fixed.
Installed the moto x2 stagefright patch, 2/3 checkers reported safe... This one didn't. As others have stated, there isn't really a way to check whether or not it is fully patched, so three stars it is.
I've just installed latest system updates from Samsung (UK) to protect from Stagefright Vulnerability. This ESET app is still saying the device is vulnerable even with the patch and auto MMS retrieve switched off. ? Lookout detector does work.
Running 4min and still checking
Still says I'm vulnerable
Does what it says! You know if you are at risk or not!
Can not detect
The app says my device is vulnerable even after its running a patched version of the firmware. Zimperium's app is more realible which reports status correctly.
This app says my device is vulnerable but according to Samsung I have the latest software version which includes the stagefright vulnerability repair patch and auto retrieve is disabled.another detector says I'm not vulnerable. So now I'm not sure if it's vulnerable or not. And it's making me rethink having eset mobile security. Am I really being protected or not?
