eReca UK Garden Birds

A wildlife biological recording app covering 20 of the more common birds found in gardens in the UK. This app is designed to record species in their natural environment using Google maps as a backdrop, including aerial photography. Local weather conditions are also recorded at the time of sighting if there is a data connection available. Species are selected from a list and stored in the SQLite database for export via eMail or loaded directly to the eReca server and posted to the web after appropriate validation.

This smartphone app uses a cache to store offline map tiles and with access to WiFi, it's easy to pre-load maps simply by viewing a route or area and then visiting that area later.
