It is good to be notified when someone sends a message in Athena. But some brilliant marketing person at Athenanet decided to set up the app to send a 2nd notification EVERY time you open it to say "we found colleagues you might know." I mean EVERY TIME! SO OBNOXIOUS!!! I asked Athena to turn this "feature" off. They said "we can't." Really?! If Athena worked harder on improving the utility of their system and less on ways to increase market share, they might actually have a winning practice management system. I wish we had never chosen Athena. Primarily because they are so inflexible on how things are set up. ...like the above issue.

Once my boss felt comfortable enough with the security issues, he allowed us to use the texting. Makes it so much faster to communicate internally with quick questions about patients and general office info.

Provides notification of new message. Delay of actually being able to see the new message can be anywhere from 10 minutes to 5-6 hrs. Unable to use it reliably to answer office messages or pages. Using stock android 5.1. Needs to be fixed.
