Epic Citadel for Android
Why haven't they made games that look this good? The coding is great. I can walk around at 100% 1920x1080 on the ultra highest settings flawlessly. Smooth as butter on my Galaxy S4 with Snapdragon 600 quad-core 1.9ghz cpu/2GB RAM/Adreno 320 @ stock 450 mhz. If you are wondering what the hype is about, you need to check this out. It blows everything else out of the water for graphics.
After reading some reviews its clear that some have no understanding of game design or who epic is. Epic has been around for a very long time. Early 90s. Anyone remember jazz jackrabbit? So its rewarding to see a company progress and thrive in the ever evolving, graphically charged realm of game creation. Well done! I'm a proud user of the unreal engine at my studio and I love seeing working examples of what your engine can do. Bravo!
This app hands down blew my mind. Loads+exits fast, amazing detail, free movement for discovery. But the detail by far is just awesome. I will definitely keep this app. I don't ever usually rate an app 5 stars but this one says exactly what it does and lets you do it. So kudos to you for making this app developer and the team!
I don't know if the dev went through my mail but this app is now working without a single issue. In one word, Amazing. No, really. You can explore a virtual environment on your own while there is also an option to 'Benchmark' your device separately. So....my LG D410 averages 58.9 FPS at 'High Performance Level'. That's probably true because my phone never hiccups playing at high settings.
So I've just started dabbling in UE4 myself so thought I'd see how the UE3 engine worked on my phone (Sony Z5)..... Avg 62.4 fps @ 1800x1080p on ultra high settings, not too shabby at all
I chuckle when people rate this as a game. This is a tech demo and a darn good one. Plays silky smooth on my custom ROMed Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 with Marshmallow and stock Nexus 6P with Nougat on Ultra high settings. Looks great and I would like to see this engine used in an actual game. This is the first thing I throw in the face of Apple elitists to choke on since they like pretty things. That is fun! Lol.
Scored 47 fps on ultra high with my zenfone 2 but.. when is the real game coming out? Cmon its been two years since you guys released this n still no real game? Just release it and add superior protection to reduce piracy. You guys will make alot of money!
Super smooth 3d graphics running 35.9 fps at 2k resolution on the LG G4. Tried this on my old galaxy s4 and only ran about 50 fps at 1080p. I tried to force an 2k output and it crashed the phone. Great app for graphic benchmark but wish it could be added ability to benchmark different amount of cores for more detailed stats
This is my first review ever. Very very cool! Stunning graphics! Wish there were people walking around though so it didn't feel like a such a ghost town. If you could make this into a game with a plot I would definitely spend money on it. There's a lot of potential here.
Okay so this isn't actually a game at all it is a tech demo and it is absolutely amazing in every way this is some graphics that I've never seen on any mobile device it is as close to console as it can possibly be, I'm in complete shock that my Nexus 7 can run this at 60 frames per second.
I have had this app since it was released and it's become far more detailed and the controls are now incredibly smooth. But I am disappointed to see that nothing has been done with this. The possible implications are endless. An android Infinity Blade. A skyrim style npc or even a world builder that has incredible detail. It's sad to see all this great work go to waste.
HTC One (M7) - 1080p display, Quadcore snapdragon 600. Kit Kat 4.4.2 update. High performance setting scored a steady 61fps while Ultra high quality setting scored 36fps. Next thing you know phones are playing Xbox 360 graphics lml
Love this benchmark app. The graphics on Ultra are amazing. Why was the PC browser version taken down? Last time I used it was on a bad old laptop and I got a very low browser fps score. Just got a new laptop and i really wanna test it here.
The game has great graphics...however, theres no gameplay..it's just walking around. Atleast make it some sort of scavenger hut...or something...like have it explain the history or what happened. So its not just walking....plus please bring infinity blade to android...cuz it is sooooooo much fun...
Nexus 5 4.4.4 Averaged 47.5 FPS with Ultra High Quality. I can't wait for Unreal Engine 4, and a game to be released using that engine on Android. We need Unreal Engine games on Android, most Android phones got the specs for beast gaming, while Apple is just keeping the mobile gaming industry behind.
This is a great app, slightly limited but visualy stunning. Hopefully the infinity blade series will be coming to android soon though i have heard rumors that it will stay ios exclusive. Please please please !!! Bring infinity blade to android. 5 stars will be awarded when you do
This is visually stunning with many amazing views, but that is really all it is. There is no game really in this and it is pretty much just you exploring a citadel and nothing else. I do hope more comes from this but right now it is very limited
God! This makes me want infinity blade on Android Sooooooo bad! The graphics are sick on the engine. Smoothest game I have ever seen. I understand why epic won't put infinity blade on Android, but seriously, do you know how many people would buy it? It would be on the top purchased list! Plus there is so much more you could do with the powerful android gpu!
I hated this app thats seriuosly all you expect me to do is walk around? Oh yeah thats so exciting. And every time i tried doing "more" it had an error. This game is stupid dont get it
The graphic is awesome! I managed to scored 56.5 fps average on my galaxy s3 @720p with 4.2.2 official firmware. Never thought my s3 is still that powerful! This is awesome! Must try and a double thumbs up to Unreal for their always-amazing graphic engine.
This looks fantastic and I love my f.p.s result but... It isn't Infinity Blade. I feel like this is a troll from Chair and epic games saying "We aren't giving you Infinity Blade, now we are going to give you false hope that we are" very sad :'(
This was a pleasure to test and compare my handsets while also seeing what we are capable of on modern handsets. With controller support becoming more common we are going to jump the gap from home consoles to mobile consoles very soon hopefully!
A lot of people are complaining about Infinity Blade not being available for Android. Sure the game uses the Unreal engine. But epic doesn't have anything to do with infinity blade other than the game engine. Complain to the developers of Infinity Blade instead. This benchmark is a great showcase of graphic fidelity for mobile devices and is a great tool for performance benchmark
After the intro of the game, it force close. I'm so excited when I saw this game. The graphics is so great. But I rate it 5 stars, I hope you fix the issue. My phone is Alcatel Onetouch Magic version 4.2.2
The people that give this app a low rating are either 1. Salty that we don't have Infinity blade on Android or 2. Idiots that don't understand what a "tech demo" is...
This app looks great, and runs at a pretty solid 60fps on my Zenfone 2. Just goes to show you how the insane power that exists in most flagship phones is being squandered.
Amazing HD graphics and an epic city to roam, feels like I am really there. Just one issue is that there are no people, and if you can add quests, that would be awesome.
Ran this on the Lenovo K900 at highest complexity, and it achieved 58FPS at 1080p. Amazing work on a great phone and great benchmark. Can't wait for Lenovo and Intel to come out with their next high performance phone design! Kudos to Epic for putting out a great showcase of the Unreal Engine!
Simply shows why unreal engine is the number 1selling engine of all time. There are around 500 games for PC and Consoles out there with this easy programable beauty of an engine. The best beauty/performance/low hardware consuming engine ever created. No wonder it is the number one selling engine of all time :-)
Smartphone games have grown tremendously within a very short time, and the graphics in this demo as come to show how much capabilities these new devices have, I really appreciate the hard work of the developers. People doesn't understand the amount of effort that goes into these games, this is phenomenal!
We all agree that the graphics are an amazing 3D experience, but going...round 'n' round...hitting stone walls, listening to chirping birds, hearing a babbling brook, expecting to see the barking dog, only to find that this is an elaborate benchmark. How frustrating is that ! When entering the Cathedral, at least open the door that leads to pews, so we can go down on our knees and pray that Epic Citadel will come alive in a game where going...round 'n' round...will be an enjoyable Medieval Mystery.
I don't understand why the picture on my m8 looks so much smoother and better than running epic citadel on my brand new Note 5??.
Great graphics, guys. But there's nothing to do! No people, nothing happening! It would be great if there was an objective, or at least something happening. It would be such a popular game.
Please read the game is amazing it got perfect graphics but whats the point of it i just started it and I'm walking around and i see random stuff I'm confused please make a multiplayer mode cause i love multiplayer game and please make it so when you start the game you get a book that you read and you get the point of the game please put this stuff in the game i will rate 5
Good graphic and shader but please add an NPC/villager and Kings and weapon for explore the kingdom fights bandits, etc good game please add that
Loving ue4 so far and I can't get enough of walking around this empty level. Whenever I'm worn out and ready to give up this always inspires me to finish my game.
YOU PEOPLE HAVE US PLAYING A GAME WERE WE WALK AROUND. NO FIGHTING OR ANYTHING. CHANGE THE GAME AND PEOPLE WOULD LOVE THE GAME MORE THAT THEY DO NOW. THE PEOPLE JUST LIKE THE GRAPHICS.
Oh unity sucks after testing this. Unreal 4 has the best demo and trailer ive seen. Unity has always been unable to answer to all the things unreal can do. I'll be switching to unreal. Thanks epic games :D
Lol, all we do here is walking, no interactions, no fun, nothing. You cant call this entertainment. Its a waste of data downloading this one.

I was quite shocked when I was able to play such a high graphics game so smoothly on my seriously aging device(galaxy nexus), that too on high quality graphics. Didn't try the ultra quality settings. Yea it might lag. But at least my device was able to pull it off without lagging which was my first thought upon installing the game. The sgx540mp still kicks ass. Probably when there is a lot more activity going on, it might lag. But for a demo, I must say this game is very well optimized. Good job.
