OS Monitor for Android
An excelent app, a feature that android is missing. Something was severely warming my phone and draining my battery, I couldnt figure out what, system settings/battery chart said that android os is draining it but it was not the case. So I installed os monitor and found out that facebook process was frozen and using processor at 100%. System battery consumption report was inaccurate. If I just restarted the phone, i wouldn't have known which app was the problem. Will continue using it, thank you!!
This app only shows what is running and that's it. Cannot kill processes or force them close. Native "Apps" menu does the same thing except some additional statistics. There should be a way to add this app to Device Administrator list so it should work as it is suppose to.. Sony Xperia Z c6603 5.1.1.
Excellent app. I was baffled why 3 cores of my processors were banging away after I supposedly cleared all apps down. It was ES file explorer which had left some background process active, as this great app established. ES was once a great app itself, now ruined, haven't a clue what is was up to bu it's now deinstalled and replaced with 'file explorer'...
What was once a great app no longer works with Android 7 or above. Appears that this app is dead, or at least dying. It was my go to app whenever I was experiencing battery drain. I've been using it for years. Hopefully, due to Android's new restrictions, the author is no longer wasting time updating the app, and moving on to other projects. Still, despite no longer being able to use it, I give it a 4 star rating - It's just that good. After several years of using it, how could I not do so?
OS Monitor is a must-have app for monitoring system resources to pinpoint rogue apps that eat up the battery or phone home without your knowledge. I keep the CPU usage notification icon on all the time in the status bar, and it only uses around 1% of the battery. However, what I REALLY want is the option to have the icon display the total bandwidth usage (upload + download) instead of CPU load right in the status bar, instead of the pull-down screen. Please consider adding this VITAL FEATURE!
I install this on every phone and tablet I use. It is an absolutely essential utility to see tasks spawn, network connections, logging etc. Once in a while, when I apply an icon pack from cm themes, if the icon creator made an icon for os monitor, it causes os monitor to crash over and over again. So, I don't use that icon pack system wide, that's how much I love this software
Having been very heavily into modifying Android devices for about 8 years. Admittedly I became very overconfident, VERY STUPIDLY stopped following most Android threads. Considering I work in information technology I fully admit this was a CRITICAL ERROR on my part... Noob level BAD. if I had room to explain the issues I could have avoided if I had this application before a week ago even the most die-hard of Android lovers would flash stock or even perhaps go apple. I feel sick saying that...
My mobile was getting very hot and sucking Juice very rapidly. This app helped me recognise culprit app eating up everything thing. It's saved me from a big bug. Now my phone is stable again. Love it
I keep getting messages every second with osmcore type:1400 audit Avc:denied. Is this normal?
Overall very good app, however with the OnePlus 3, it does not display the correct amount of free memory. The phone has 6 gigabytes of ram, but with 1.7 gigs used, it shows only a hundred Megs of ram left. Developer please fix this!
Really track every system process and apps running using your battery, and see which one is sending your data to where(yes, exact location). Free, no ads, small power usage. Do as it is no nonsense, great Apps. Thank you.
Very nice app. Helped me track the activity of an app from Play store that got my phone full of intrusive ads (Premium HD Wallpapers). Thank you!
This app helped me to track down a rogue app that was secretly monitoring my usage and throwing up many types of pop up ads when I was using the phone. That app would turn itself on for less than a second and go to sleep, leaving behind pop up ads which seemed to not have any connections to any running processes. OS Monitor allowed me to monitor the 'status' of running and sleeping apps on my phone and I was able to spot the dodgy behaviour of this app that Antivirus and Malware cleaners could not find. There are other uses for this app but right now, this single feature will be part of my Android tool kit.
Geolocation (map in connection view) is no longer displaying. All other functions seem to be operating correctly. EDIT: Maps are now displaying - thanks for the prompt attention!
I found that Google device manager use so much cpu. Kill progress and my device back to life again. Low cpu usage. No need to restart my phone. Great app.
Good for monitoring system. Notification icon is constantly squashed if using Kit Kat! Would give 5 stars but uses way too much memory!
2017/01/24 Android messed up again with 7.0! If they take away stuff, they need to provide a means of getting it back by allowing the user to grant access to it manually. It seems that the "do no evil" doesn't apply to big brother Google anymore. :-((( I expect behavior like that from Apple, not from Google. 2016/04/15 Since I got android 6.0 installed, marshmallow, the selected color didn't show on the notification and since the frame is dark, and the dark colored graduating bars are dark too instead of light blue, and all is showing on a transparent notification bar where the image under it is dark, I couldn't see it at all. 5/7/2016 Nothing about this issue was addressed, so one star now. 9/3/2016 finally this issue was fixed.
This app has no predictive whiteboard collaborations to destroy the Democrat Party once and for all, but, the new Supreme Court should send them losers into the ashbin of History. God Bless America....and no one else.
With this app I was able to find out the reason my phone was overheating and with uninstalling the app which was using the most cpu, my phone went back to normal.
Not entirely sure the purpose of this app, but it tells you basically everything going on within your at any given time. Also will make timestamp notes/messages about anything out of the ordinary.
The best app of its kind that I've found so far. One request tho..can we have an option toggle to exclude from the system message view.. msgs relating to this process; it is as if the program is in debug mode!
How am I supposed to use the process list? Things just keep jumping around because it is constantly sorted by current usage. I can't click on anything to see the details.
It tells you in detail about your device. One feature that I like is its ability to track the data connection of each app I have on my device. Thus, I can figure out where my apps are sending its data. Also, the UI is good, smooth and user-friendly. Keep the good job!
I have this app on all my devices, it's mandatory for me to be able to monitor what's running in the background. I would love it if there was an option to hide OS Monitor processes in the list. Then you could see the total CPU usage as if OS Monitor wasn't running.
the best, most comprehensive of its kind.
Demanding access to my bookmarks AND browsing history to see what private pages I have been seeing put this app right up there with intrusive spyware. Disgusting.
Geek Warning: So much cool info you will not be able to sleep. The definitive system tool.
Not working on Android 5.1.1(NOT rooted) - No Data about Processes or Connections or Messages. Is there something I need to do to get it to Work?
I'm a Linux administrator with 20+ years experience and this is the best system monitor app I've ever found. The firs app that gets installed on every Android device that I put my hands on.
If you are kind of geeky this is the app to find out every background process used to "make services better". A must have.
Is this app doing everything on the main thread? The list view of processes is laggy as f###. Aside from that it's useful.
It tells me about except not hidden application's. Seems ok knowing who is in device.
Seems like apps memory usage is incorrect.. If you add up the RAM usage of all listed processes, it will be 2 times of my total physical RAM..May be it's been adding the swap/virtual memory usage too along with physical RAM usage , but there is no use of it for the normal users.
Cool! It really detect the "true" RAM performance. Now my phone is not lag anymore, I uninstall unusual apps. Thank you!
So many other apps ceased working with Android 6.0. This one has not. It is thorough, well implemented, and handy.
When I first installed it a few days ago, the connections showed maps. Now when I clicked on any connection, nothing happened?
Since I got android 6.0 installed, marshmallow, the selected color didn't show on the notification and since the frame is dark, and the dark colored graduating bars are dark too instead of light blue, and all is showing on a transparent notification bar where the image under it is dark, I couldn't see it at all. 5/7/2016 Nothing about this issue was addressed, so one star now. 9/3/2016 finally this issue was fixed.
Found out ES Explorer was sending data home to Baidu located in China. I then manually uninstalled and removed all traces of ES Explorer after finding out. Great app.
Of course there is always room for improvement as user finds one. The layout is quite genius as are details. A lot of useful info brings up to see in "Real Time". Highly recommend this mobile program monitor and big thanks to developer for making it clean. A good programmer is reflected in their efforts and this one observes 5 Star top rating.

This apps is handy. I am using android 5 and it works really well. The only thing i think is really missing is under the battery info section. Please add ampere draw. This stat is really handy to find out of your charging cables are faulty. The current stats like voltage etc is good but i need to install a seperate app to see the anp draw.
