قواعد اللغة الإنجليزية (بالإنجليزية: English Grammar) هي مجموعة القواعد التي تحدد تركيب التعبيرات المختلفة في اللغة الإنجليزية مثل تركيب الكلمات والجمل والعبارات. وقد مرت قواعد اللغة الإنجليزية بمراحل عدة قبل وصولها إلى ما هي عليه الآن.[1] عدد الحروف في الأبجدية الإنجليزية هو 26 حرفا، وتنقسم إلى ساكنة ومتحركة، وتكتب كبيرة (Capital) أو صغيرة (Small).[2]
تتألف الجملة في اللغة الإنجليزية من عدة مكونات: الفاعل، والفعل، والمفعول به، والتكملة، والظرف.[3] وعدد الأزمنة فيها هو اثنان: الحاضر والماضي، أما الزمن المستقبلي فيحتاج إلى فعل مساعد لتكوينه.[4]
تصنف الكلمة في اللغة الإنجليزية بشكل رئيسي إلى فعل، واسم، وصفة، وظرف، وحرف جر، وأداة محددة، وضمير، وربط. كما أن ترتيب الكلمة مهم جدا في الجملة، وقد تحتوي العبارة الفعلية على بنية مركبة، وتوجد تعابير كثيرة تستخدم لأجلها حروف الجر.[3]

بدأ تغير بارز ومفاجئ في اللفظ، خاصة في لفظ حروف العلة، حيث بدأت تُلفظ أقصر، ويعد ذلك نهاية الإنجليزية المتوسطة. وابتداء من القرن السادس عشر بدأ البريطانيون بالتواصل مع ناس كثيرين من حول العالم، إضافة إلى النهضة التي حصلت في التعلم الكلاسيكي، فأدى هذان الأمران إلى دخول الكثير من الكلمات والعبارات الجديدة إلى اللغة الإنجليزية.[5]
أدى اختراع الطباعة في أواسط القرن الخامس عشر[6] أيضا إلى وجود لغة عامة في الطباعة، حيث أصبحت الكتب أرخص وتعلم الكثير من الناس القراءة. منحت الطباعة أيضا اللغة الإنجليزية ثباتًا، حيث أن اللفظ والقواعد أصبحا محددين، كما أصبحت اللهجة المحلية في لندن المعيار، حيث كان في لندن معظم دور الطباعة. وفي عام 1604 تمت طباعة أول قاموس للغة الإنجليزية.[5]
الإنجليزية الحديثة المتأخرة (1800 - الآن)[عدل]
الفرق الرئيسي بين الإنجليزية الحديثة المبكرة والمتأخرة هو المفردات، حيث تحتوي المتأخرة على كلمات أكثر بكثير، وهذا الأمر منطلق من عاملين رئيسيين، الأول هو الثورة الصناعية والتكنولوجيا اللتان شكلتا الحاجة إلى كلمات جديدة، والثاني هو أن الإمبراطورية البريطانية غطت ما بين ربع وثلث مساحة سطح الأرض،[7] فدخلت كلمات أجنبية من بلدان كثيرة على اللغة الإنجليزية.[5]
