Civil Air Patrol ES Arizona

This application uses the Civil Air Patrol Grid Map over laid on 4 different types of Maps.
This application is perfect for Search Missions, SAREX's, Ground Team, UDF.


This program contains the following features:


Custom Marker Icons: By holding your finger down anywhere on the map, a Marker Icon is created where you were holding your finger down. If you would like to move the marker in real time, you can hold your finger down on the icon once again until it moves, then drag it around the screen. As it moves around, you will see what the Latitude and Longitude is of the marker. Once you are done dragging, remove your finger fro the marker, and the marker stays. Touch it again and you will get an information screen on top of the marker showing the name and Latitude and Longitude Location of the marker. Touch the information box and you will open up an options screen where you may change the name of the marker, change the icon displayed on the map, change the Latitude and Longitude coordinates, delete the marker, and of course you can get turn by turn GPS directions from your current location to the marker chosen.


Custom User Location Icon: The map will display your current location in real time. You may click on the right side icon to instantly go to where you are located on the map. Click the program logo on the top right of the screen and choose "My Location" to be able to see your location in Latitude and Longitude. Also change the icon that represents your location, and a Go To button which takes your instantly to your location on the map.


Grid Number Selection: Click on the program logo on the top right of the screen and choose "Grid Number", there you can choose which grid you would like to go to instantly. This will also save the grid number selected, so that everytime you close and open the program, you will be taken to the saved Grid Number immediately.


Map Type Selection: Click on the program logo on the top right of the screen and choose "Map Type", there you can choose which type of map you would like to see. The options are "Normal, Hybrid, Terrain, and Satellite". You may zoom in and out of the map using standard finger controls, or for more accurate zoom, there is a + and - keys on the bottom right corner of the map screen that also handles this function.


Map Name Selection: If your state is served by more than 1 sectional. All of the relative sectionals that cover your state will be available using this screen. Simply choose which sectional you would like to see, and you will ONLY be shown the sectional (with the parts that covers your state ONLY) on the map. On the top of the screen, you will be shown the name of the sectional that is represented on the Map at this time for easier reference. On this screen you can choose how you would like to see your Outer and Inner Grid Colors for custom viewing by the user. You may also choose to remove the Inner Grid altogether for easier viewing and planning. The Outer Grid cannot be removed.
