Embrace+ for Android
To be honest, I was expecting the embrace + to be a bit low tech because of It's late release. But consider it as a expensive toy. It really sparks a conversation due to how unique it is. As for app functions, it would be nice to add more 3rd party apps support in, like snapchat and gmail. As we'll as a simple notification for non compatible apps.
First of all, it took almost two years more to ship the bracelets than it was estimated when I baked it on kickstarter. I hoped that the developers could take their time and at least release a stable piece of software.. but right now it not usable at_all. Phone: sony z1, android: 4.4.4. The embrace loses connection in couple minutes in the best case and never reconnects again without restarting the phone and the bracelet itself. The best result so far is getting two notifications before it disconnected. TL;DR: NOTHING actually works, devs wasted lots of time and money, the embrace+ is an absolutely useless piece of hard/software.
Want support for Line messaging app
That.Is.All.
The band is turning off even though the app says it has 100% battery. There is no additional app support. The bracelet kills battery. Disconnects for a sec every few minutes but it gives the out of range vibration.
So after 2 years of being an initial backer and finally receiving my bracelet in the 3rd batch this week. I thought I'll give it a go and was excited to download the app! Well they say out the box experience is everything! My out the box experience was met with a completely dead battery and the thing refusing to charge! Or at least give me any notification that it was charging! Finally got the thing on and flashing green. Open up my brand new HTC one M8 to connect and get greeted with no option for the embrace. Finally it detects it when I bring the device within kissing distance of the phone. To then be told the pair key is incorrect. I have no option to change the pair key or anything! So installed the app anyway. It immediately tries to search for the Embrace+ at which point the app crashes. Several attempts later and it connects at last! So I start going through the themes and setting them up. Must have crashed around 10 - 15 times before I managed to set-up all my themes. Bearing in mind every time the app crashes it disconnects and I have to go through the same difficult connection process of crash after crash! Piece of crap. App needs updates urgently!
It just kinda lights and vibrates however it wants whenever it wants. It just kinda ignores my settings. Weird.
The call notifications don't work, nor does it register group texts on the S5.
2 years and all I got this disappointment. App consume a lot of batter, bad but acceptable. However, when I missed 2 calls and a bunch of SMS, it's a different story. Please fix asap
I hate the app. I hate hardware. It hardly works. I hate t the developers too. Crooks.
Is it possible to have a list of all installed apps on your phone and select which ones you want to have notification tray monitoring? That way I can get notifications for kik and snapchat without them needing to be hard coded into the app.
As a backer of this project I'm quite disappointed. The bracelet itself is quite nice but it drains battery like crazy and don't work in half of the settings. The app is weird and quite hard to manage.
Great idea not very good hardware. Disconnects, charging issues, then complete device failure after 2 days.
Can we get more options for notifications such as G+, hangouts or even create custom ones?
Pls add a glowstick feature
Crashes as soon as it opens.
Drains battery like mad
Dear developer, why do you require Android 4.3? I ordered your wristband but my phone is limited to Android 4.0. There is nothing I can do to update the version - and yet every single piece of BT hardware I use works with Android 4.0. Can you lower this requirement?
I need to pair it with my phone and turn it back on about every 5 to 10 minutes. Also there is no notification when divide becomes unpaired so sometimes I don't notice for a while and miss several calls or texts

My bracelet stopped chargeing a long time ago I emailed them and got no response it's sad but you win some u lose some guess it was to good to be true
There is definitely potential. However, it reads all my incoming calls as "unknown" no matter what I do. Hoping this gets cleared up somehow very soon.
Bracelet disconnects constantly, drinks the battery like a vampire. Half the notifications do not work, at all. 2 years, and this is what we get? It's an insult to everyone that backed the project. You can't customize duration of vibration times or number of vibrates. Light intesity or times of flash or for how long they flash. Cant make custom colors, no way to sep up recurring or many alarms. The list goes on, it could be fixed with updates, and i hope it is.
Great idea not very good hardware. Disconnects, charging issues and app could have been better designed tho impressed development for android available same time as iPhone
I turned on the out of range notification and sat my phone on my desk 2 feet from the device and a couple minutes later the thing lights up saying it is out of range. It doesn't happen when i am holding the phone in the same hand the device is worn on. That is some seriously limited range.
Waited and waited through all of the manufacturing travails. Unfortunately, they labored greatly and brought forth a mouse.

I received my embrace today, and I've set and reset custom notifications for calls, individual callers, texts, etc, and the settings don't "stick. " It neither 1) remembers them after i set them or 2) allows me to create a "library" of settings (For example green, 3 beat with vibrate could be named "alarm" that i could call up from a library when i wanted to use it). Km giving up on custom settings for now.
If you want to preview your selection, make sure to click the WORD "preview". Hopefully the developers will change this in an upcoming app update, or at least put a box around the word like every other selection. And I hope to see more apps being able to be hooked into this alert system, Like Google Hangouts or ITTT .
I defended this project from the start and I've ended up disappointed.. The product is nothing like the prototype in the video and is far from the original design and operation. It flashes lights for one cycle and vibrates one cycle which not nearly enough time to catch the alert.. Also the light intensity can not be controlled (on high all times..disturbing in a movie theater) the modes or presets can not be configured with other colors and the same flash patterns are not included in the custom settings.
TRY SKILLS NOT HAVING IT AT ALL!
Spend more time answering pair request messages from the band than anything else.
... I actually had the product to go with it. But I'm expecting to be disappointed with the app too.
I received it with defect the company refused to fix it!
Its a great app. Good bang for buck. Updates are coming snappy. So far so good.
I supported this Kickstarter and have been constantly disappointed. I expected more colors to be available as well as a feature to assign notifications to individual people. I'm also disappointed that there is no way to change the intensity of the light, or a 'movie' mode where you could turn the light off but still have it vibrate. The absence of this feature means you would have to take it off to see a movie. I also wish you could adjust the length of how long the light flashes and the band vibrates.
My embrace+ loses connection with the app very frequently, so alerts are rarely shown. I've not been able to find a way to reconnect automatically. Often I have to restart the device, kill the app and then start it again. Too bad, I do really hope it will be better in the future, because the potential is there. Some other wishes : more possibilities to select colours and combinations of colours, wake up alarm, set duration of the alert (eg until stopped or 5 minutes), manual fixed colours or blinks.
This app causes major battery drain on my note 2 please fix will give higher stars once resolved!
