Hanping Cantonese Dictionary

Amazing. Even whe. You already know cantonese, its better than any dictionary online. It give the proper pronunciation. Highly recommend even native hk residents to learn english and chinese. Some words are missing like 纓漾 I hope tgey add them soon. Or reply back.

Amazing app. The support for exporting to Anki is a fantastic feature, and customisation options let you create flashcards however you want!

Worth every penny

Whereas other Cantonese dictionary apps use computer generated pronunciations that sound like the computer speech synthesizers from the '90s, this app has audio recorded from an actual native speaker, which makes a huge difference in quality.

Easy to use!

Definitely a good dictionary. It has a lot of words and is useful if you know what you're looking for. But it would be nice if it would indicate or first show terms actually used in spoken language. I'm also unsure of how (also if and how to use) the google translate feature works as google translate doesn't have Cantonese?

One of the best Cantonese dictionary I ever use ... It allows me translate English sentence to Cantonese sentence and it can also read read out funtion ...thanks for all ur hard work to build this app ... Really useful

Many will feel put off by the price. I decided to try. It's well worth the cost. Full, complete dictionary with sounds, colour coded tones, favourites lists, pinned notifications, and widgets. I'm just learning the language, and this has been the best tool I've found by far.

Incredible Cantonese dictionary! Soo good if you are serious about learning the language. It has many words and symbols, plus the export feature to AnkiDroid makes it soo easy to learn new words.

If you work with Cantonese, this is super useful.

Great app! After struggling hopelessly with the old Kanji dictionaries for 20 years, this app totally transformed my ability to communicate in Cantonese when I got it about two ago. Should be on the home screen of all Cantonese learners. Also great for native speakers to check pronunciation and characters. Such a gem. Thanks!!!

I've learned a lot from this app in over a year. Conversations with my parents have become more fluid thanks to its responsiveness and accurate definitions. The writing input made looking up signs in Hong Kong a cinch. Best of all, heaps of informal Cantonese and idioms are included. This app is worth every penny. Thanks so much!

After reading all the reviews, i decided to give it a try and nuff said, simply the best Cantonese app you can find. Totally worth the money spent. One comment though, the widget not updated with new word starred and have to re-create the widget everytime . - Hi embremite, since my last review, i have been using it on daily basis and would like to suggest for notes to be written with saved words,. For example, when starred a phrase, (sometimes no meaning from the dictionary) , the user can put short notes / remarks / own meaning with it would be extremely useful for future reference. I dont mind having to pay a reasonable amount for this feature or app .Thank you and loved it so much.

I'm really excited about this app: it has a clean interface, it's full of information and it is very useful both a daily app to look up words and understand signs, spoken expressions, etc. as well as a learning tool (I purchased the additional stroke animation for all characters). A six-star app so far!

Worth every penny! The pronunciations are quite good, and the definitions are easy to understand. Also love the inclusion of slang that you hear a lot from Hong Kongers.

I've tried all the Cantonese apps I could find, but this, combined with Anki flashcards, with which it is automatically integrated if you choose, has taken it to the next level.

Best Cantonese dictionary

I LOVE this app. As an Australian-born Cantonese, this has been an invaluable tool for me. It's easy to use, has audio, and I can copy + paste whole paragraphs to get the Yale and definitions of every word. I also love how they show you the stroke order, traditional and simplified versions... What would be nice is if you could add similar looking words that we may mistake a character for, e.g. 持 and 特. This app has been worth every dollar. The 'flip card' widget for starred words is awesome too!

This is without a doubt the best translator app I have ever used. It's interface is clean and modern, it has lots of fantastic features (e.g., it auto-translates whatever is in the clipboard whenever you open the app), and the content of its dictionary is very large. It also has brush-strokes in case you want to try writing a character, and audio pronunciation guides. I cannot recommend this highly enough!

I can't find any Cantonese app as good as this.i don't feel ripped off and the words are much more precise
